Dutch Passion Blue AutoMazar, Auto White Widow and others..

Subbed! I started my first grow with BAM and AWW about 2 weeks ago. Haven't been having much luck getting the BAM started but the AWW seem invincible and have survived a broken HPS light for several days followed by some scorching heat while I got my set up sorted!

Update!

Well its been 5 days since i sowed all four beans...

Both of the Auto White Widow have come up and seem to be doing ok.

Neither of the Blue AutoMazar have come up or even seem to be coming up. im kinda disapointed..its the first beans ive had that didnt sprout and it was the ones i was most excited for :face:

i do have one more AWW and one more BAM so ill probaly replace the 2 BAM that arent coming up with those and just take the loss..not sure what went wrong the two AWW seem perfect but who knows

Sprout karma fellow AWW'er !! :smokebuds:

Sometimes they're just a little shy to pop out. It seems the AWW is flying off. On my end she is just as "aggressive" as the already legendary TD, but I'm just about to bud so conclusions are still to come.
Since you didn't pre-soak, this delay is not unusual. It may well be the beans are in an air bubble or a water channel lent them a little lesser water than the AWW, or the genetics simply prefer a slightly different temp and pH ? Maybe they're a few milimeters deeper and will pop out tomorrow? Don't throw the towel in so soon! If you can, water at around pH 5.5 until they pop out. No pH pen? Add 4 drops of lemon juice /L - but even this is nit really necessary. Wait it out a few more days IMHO

Wassup groff, yea I'm usually really patient but being day 5 and not seeing a single sign of it coming up I decided to investigate. I very very gently just scraped the top of the soil until I could see the beans. On one it appears the taproot is like stuck or grew into the first set of leaves its weird .. Here's a pic u can kind of see what I mean..

Its weird cause the taproot is literally attached to the set of leaves they're not just touching they're somehow attached..

This is exactly the same trouble I've had with my BAM. Out of the 7 seeds I've only had one survive and its really not doing great. The tap root doesn't seem to grow at all. I cracked all mine open in damp kitchen towel (alongside the AWW which have also done really well) and put them in jiffy pellets. None sprouted but I was having typical newbie problems with heat and light so I cracked some more in damp towel and put 2 in jiffy pellets and left 1 in the towel to see if the root would get longer. After a few days, the one I left in the towel had no sign of growth so I put it in a cup of soil. It still hasn't broke through the surface.

Of the 2 in the jiffy pellets, 1 broke through the soil and died and one is hanging in there. I removed the dead one and the tap root was barely 4 or 5mm long. The other had the roots growing through the mesh on the pellet today so I put it in a pot and covered it with a bottle.

Like yourself I'm disappointed because it's the BAM i wanted but on a more positive note the AWW is great so far!

The first pic is of the BAM and its 9 days since germination. The second is of an AWW and its about 17 days old. I had a broken HPS so it would be bigger if it weren't short a few days of light!

I also had to separate the leaves from the seed shell on the BAM as it was stuck and the shell was hard as f&ck. It definitely would have died if I hadn't intervened.

Got a couple of those squiggly ones, I thinks I didn't plant it root down or deep enuff. Don't give up on them Mississ Josie that got a bom nom last month was a squiggly, grew up down back up, roots coming up and diving for cover. And finished up sweet...

:peace: go underdogs

Well the 2 BAM I started in the beginning of this journal never made it.

To replace those I put another BAM and another AWW into paper towels. Today the BAM showed a taproot and I sowed it into a pot so hopefully it comes up. The AWW in the paper towel hasn't shown any signs of germing yet but its still in there.

Happy growing yall :smokebuds:

Edit: I think they are smaller than they should be cause i wasn't running my 600w all the way, yesterday I noticed I was running my 600w at 75%, after turning it to 100% good growth is happened just over night :stylez rasta smoke:

nice. Keep that light good and close without frying them and they will do great!

What kind of reflector do you have? Keeping temps with in some kind of range?

Give it some more time. They will go. At this point they are making roots to support a large plant.

I would also suggest staying away from peat pellets. Pop in a paper towel and then put them right into wet soil.
Works way better.

Here's my other auto White Widow that I tried to germ..

Idk why the taproot keeps getting stuck to the leaves it happened to my BAM too.. So far my germ rate has been..

BAM - 1/3

AWW - 2/3

I've grown probably 15+ Dp beans and had 100 % germ rate until now, am I doing something wrong or is it the beans? The BAM that is up and going was in the same paper towel that has the weird looking aww in the pic so idk what's going on gunna have to cop me another pack I guess :smokebuds:
