So you're using 3 gallon bags and you got two Oz each plant. I wonder how you would do if you used a 5 gallon or a 10 gallon bag. I have both. But I'm wondering where the line is in the sand as I hike out my soil in my rucksack. One pack full of soil mix is typically equal to a 10 gallon bag. But I have a year to hike out however many I am going to try and do. I haven't decided yet. Thoughts?

What is the ground soil like? Or is it too pine acidic? I would try a few straight in the ground(2X2foot hole) if drainage and ph is okay. Its not ironic that I pulled 5oz per plant average off my outdoor autos this summer. Free reign root expansion means rapid growth and an expansive root system to pick up lots of nutrients when the time of major flower development comes.

I can't argue at all with your logic 912greenskell. Valid points. I lost 60 plants to slugs this summer so I'm extremely wary of having anything on the ground anymore. Hopefully I'll recover as I hiked in all that soil for those numbers. That's where my head is at the moment.
