It's only my third grow.
Doesn't really get me out of the 'new grower' category I think.
Maybe after this run I will feel up to not using it any more ;)

Seems one of the babies had a minor issue with orientation.
It was sending it's taproot upward - I guess I got one that was supposed to go to Oz...
I flipped it over, so let's see what happens next

Day 1 UPDATE
All looking good for the early sprouter.
The late sprouter had a bad case of helmet head, but the helmet eventually DID fall off. Unfortunately, it also took one of the cotyledons with it - and there was no user intervention (thankfully).
I will be running with the early sprouter and binning the helmet head. :coco:

No roots have reached the outside of the net pot yet, but that is to be expected.
I lowered the light a bit and popped a cocktail stick into the sponge in case she needs some assistance as she grew very quickly overnight.
Lighting is on 24/0 and I may keep it there for the full grow, although that is TBD.

Now that I am down to one plant, I have decided to name this lovely lady.
I am going to call her.......

ISHTAR :dancer: :naughtystep: :ladies:

From The New World Encyclopedia:
Ishtar, a goddess of both fertility and war, is the Akkadian name of the Sumerian goddess Inanna and the Semitic goddess Astarte, the three names referring to the same deity in different cultural contexts. She inspired great devotion in the ancient Babylonian empire, as evidenced by the many grand temples, altars, inscriptions, and art objects devoted to her.
There were two conflicting aspects to this goddess: She was the deity of fertility and love, but also a jealous goddess who could bring vengeance against individuals, go to war, destroy fields, and make the earth's creatures infertile. Ever young, energetic, and passionate, Ishtar was moody, changing rapidly from love to enmity. She protected her favorites, but brought doom upon those who dishonored her, sometimes with terrible consequences for whole nations.

I went with this name because what is not to love about weed? And she is going into battle. Couldn't be more fitting :D

New equipment modification.

I have been using 2 x 50 litre plastic bins as my water aeration/chloride dissipation containers and they are a pain in the ass.
Filling each with 30 l of water in the bathroom and carrying them into the spare room I grow in isn't much fun.
In addition, I have to pH each individually, and split the nutrients between them.
NO MORE !!!! :woohoo:

I cut a 25mm hole in each bin at a level where there is 35 litres of water in the bin.
Into these holes, I put a 25mm pvc plumbing pipe.
To fill them, I run a hose from my bathroom.
Once filled, I pop an air stone into each one and use an aquarium pump to move the water from one tank to the other via the white hose..
The water then recycles back into the original bin via the pvp pipe.
Now, I will be able to just throw the nutes into one bin and they will automatically circulate between the 2, giving me a constant ppm measurement from both bins.
This will make my life sooooo much easier :vibe:

DAY 2 UPDATE
I wouldn't usually do such rapid updates, but this thing doesn't want to slow down.
Lowered my light again and it is now at about 10 inches from the top (running at less than 30 Watts on the COB)

I just hope it isn't being too fast out of the traps, and has the stamina to run the full distance (in time). :aha:

:growing:

Looking good so far. I currently have all Mephistos (all I been growing 7 months)
Jammy Dodgers, Creme-Tasmo, Dezz Nugz, Blue Cush and a 3BOG X Sour Livers cross. Jammy and Creme almost done. Been running a perpetual grow now for 13 months straight.

I would never think of doing a perpetual grow.
I go through about 1g per day and my last grow brought in over 400g from 4 plants.
