Dutch Passion Billy Wu's second grow - Think Different (w/CO2 enrichment)

Hay dude you have already thought about it I imagine but why not get a bigger HPS rather than spend a small fortune on Hydrogrow LEDs.

It's not the light strength that's the problem :] It's getting light to the underside of the tent.

Then there is the heat that a bigger HPS puts out, and the stress it puts on the plants, actually I think its more stress on the grower!!

Day 1 from seed

Seed has cracked and the tap root is out already, that was bloody fast! Less than 48 hours.
Had some soil pH problems (it was at 5.5), so I've added 5½ teaspoons of dolomite lime to bring it back up.
The seed's been planted now, should be up and about in a couple of days :]

Also going to go with 24/0 of lighting for 2 weeks.

Congrats on the germ Billy, hope you blow this one away too!

Day 3 from seed

Got our little seedling just sprouting up through the dirt today :]

Second update: I think I messed up and uploaded these pictures to the wrong album at a different hosting site. I've deleted the pictures, so if they're deleted from my previous posts like they should be, here they are:

Yes!! She's off!

Day 9 from seed

Just a little update :] Started CO2 enrichment today. The valve itself is broken though and leaks gas, so I need to wait to get a replacement. This means that I can't use the timer to inject CO2, so I'm having to do it manually every few hours for the time being.
Extraction fan has been set to about 20% power so I've only got 1 little fan running in there now, I expect the temperatures to reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit, maybe a little more. To make up for this, the CO2 will do its thing and allow the plant to grow comfortably in temperatures up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

More pictures will be up in a few days :] Currently also trying to correct my soil pH problems, it's still at 5.6 even after 4½ tablespoons of dolomite lime. The plant looks a little iron deficient, so I'll be starting on the Formulex feed in 2 days to support it.

Edit: Just checked the temperature. With only one fan going and the extraction at 20%, the temperature exceeded 95 degrees Fahrenheit. I've put a second fan on, increased the extraction fan speed to about 50% and set the other fan to a higher speed for more circulation.
