Dutch Passion Billy Wu's FIRST DWC HYDRO GROW - DP Auto White Widow

have you been hand watering do this until the roots it the water :karma Cloud:

yes dwc dose take a bit longer to take off but you will get there

I've only used rockwool once, but they do see a bit high up in the pot, and a bit dry'ish... ? Hand water with strong root stim formula and very low EC until roots hit the water, 3 or 4x times a day. pH 5.5-5.7.

They dont look bad at all for 13 days stunted! It would be alot worse if they were all yellow etc. My babies were like that for a few days, I though nothing was going on, but all of a sudden roots started peeking out all over. They're surely making their way through the pebbles... they look healthy! Let 'em rip!

Hey again guys, I haven't posted in ages because I haven't had anything worth posting. I've been having problems with the roots and water levels but I've finally got that sussed and a new plant that's just starting it's 3rd/4th set of leaves has just got it's roots in the res.

I did a res change today, but I've run out of Formulex. Last time I was at this stage I made my res with Sensi A+B, Voodoo Juice, CalMag and Formulex. I wound up with an EC of about 0.4 after the Sensi, Voodoo and CalMag and then I just made up the EC to 1.0 with Formulex.

However, I've run out of Formulex! What do I do? Do I make the EC up to 1.0 with Sensi A+B? I added an extra 5ml of each and a double dose of Voodoo Juice and made my EC to 0.8. Should I make it up to 1.0 with Sensi?

im not 100% sure what you water starting ec is........

if the starting ec is 0 make the res up to .8 ec using sensi a+b

if your starting ec is higher than 0 just add this on for example if your water ec is .4 make it 1.2 ec

ph 5.6

obviously my advice should get you started but then its up to you to maintain

Day 33 update

Well guys, I said I'd give you an update when I had something worth updating :) I've managed to get this one going pretty well now!
Done a fresh res change today. EC is at 1.4, pH 5.6. Feed consists of:

80mL Sensi Grow A+B
5mL Carboload
15mL Voodoo Juice
Full strength Sensizym
5mL liquid silicone
6mL CalMag

I've figured out any problems I had previously been having. My pH range has been perfect at 5.5 for the first week, then 5.6 up until now :) pH 5.6 is definitely the magic number at this point!
Also now that I've got my feeding set right and I know where to put the water level for new seeds, I think that I'm going to be able to produce a monster plant for my next grow. This one will still turn out good! :D

Here's some pictures (sorry for having only the LED light on, my phone camera doesn't like it when the HPS is on).

Day 48

Things are going well for my first attempt at DWC. I've had a few pH issues but I figured out the sweet spots now. I was a little late switching to flower nutes this time.
Got some real nice pictures here, buds are looking pretty frosty and a good size for day 48. The root mass is also pretty big now.

pH is at 5.8, EC is at 1.7.
Fresh res change today, consisted of:

90mL Sensi Bloom A
90mL Sensi Bloom B
5g Big Bud powder
15mL Carboload
32mL Sensizym
8mL CalMag
6mL Liquid silicone

Day 80 - Harvest Day

It's finally here :) Got her all the way through to harvest, not bad at all for my first go at DWC. I had a wet weight of 430g. 25% (approximate dry weight) of that is 107.5g
It's so incredibly sticky and absolutely laced in crystals. Definitely looks like the strongest strain I've grown so far!

nice one billy, you got there! And that does indeed look like very nice home-grown, let us know how she rates.

I should also say well done on your first DWC attempt, not everyone adapts well to the ext rat technical challenges of hydro. But it looks like you have done a fine job, and you will only get better as you gain experience

take it easy and all the best
