Hi everyone. So, I've finally made the change to deep water culture hydroponics! It's cost me a fair bit, but I'm confident in my abilities to run a DWC system now :) Here is some information for you guys.

Strain: Auto White Widow by Dutch Passion
Pot: DWC bubbler bucket, 20 liters
Environment: Secret Jardin Dark Room pro DR60 II, 24"x24"x64"
Lighting system: 250W HPS, dual spectrum bulb with cool tube reflector & 100W of LED from 2x 50w LED UFO's (soon to be buying Grow Northern LED panel)
Carbon filter: Rhino pro carbon filter
Extraction fan: 100mm RVK fan
Intake: Passive
Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients full line up (Sensi grow + bloom A&B, Hammerhead, Voodoo juice, Big Bud, Sensizym, Carboload), liquid silicone, Formulex, CalMag supplement
Water: Soft dechlorinated tap water (getting RO filter for subsequent grows)
Temperature: Aiming to keep a consistent 75°F - 85°F during lights on, 70°F lights off
Extras: CO2 enrichment

I've done a lot of research into DWC but this is still my first grow, so I'd really like help from you guys in any way possible :) I will be germinating and propagating my seeds using the 'paper towel' method. They will then go into rockwool cubes, soaked for 24 hours in a weak solution of Voodoo juice and possibly Formulex. Gonna soak my clay pebbles in water for 24 hours too.

Got a Secoh JDK-20 pump, which will put out 32 litres/minute of air through a 100mm disk type air stone. Res changes will of course be once per week.

My grow will start in about 1 week, gonna flush my last Think Different plant tomorrow and harvest in 1 week. On the day the TD is harvested, my seeds will have germinated and will be in the rockwool :)

Hi I would suggest to put a least 3 extra air-stones on that pump!
Its not good when a pump get to much backpressure this will significantly reduce the life of the pump!

This pump is rated @ 43 liters@50mbar=50cm underwater surface!
A 100mm air-stone is rated max 5-6l/ min a 200MM air-disk is rated at max 20-25l/min!

How is the sound of the pump, because I haven't seen or heard this specific type in action!

further best of luck with the grow!:gthumb:

Ah okay, I'll order a couple of 200mm stones :)

I haven't actually got the pump yet, I've just ordered everything.

:pop::coffee::thread:Good luck Billy:smokebuds:subbed

Best of luck Billy...

Little update. Had a bit of a problem getting the air pump I needed, so instead I've bought an Airtech 70 pump which puts out 41 liters/minute. It comes with a 4 way manifold, so if 41 LPM turns out to be too much, I'll leave one hole on the manifold open to let some go :)

good luck Billy, DWC offers extreme growth potential, lets see if you can 'ace' your first attempt. I reckon you will !

Thanks Tony :) I'm gonna try my best and I'm gonna need a lot of guidance, but I think I might be able to do it!

Hey Billy , I got a 60l/min pump and I run it sometimes in one bucket and it is not a problema. Two buckets is great!!! Can't wait to see you shine on this one. You're going to blow it out of the water!!!literally!!!
