Bag Appeal: ***
Buds are a bit too fluffy but the color is nice.
THE GROWTH: ***
Slow starter that took until day 23 to show sex. Relatively trouble free though I did have some mag deficiency issues later in the grow. Trichome production was good but nothing to brag about.
THE SMELL: ****
Though this one had very little smell while growing, the cured bud is quite nice. First whiff is bitter grapefruit, but after a second or two it mellows and resembles green tea with lemon. Interesting smell, but I don't pick up any pineapple.
THE SMOKE: ****
For this test I used a MFLB and bud that had cured approximately 60 days. Smooth smoke with a little citrus fruitiness on exhale. Definitely has matured for the better from 30 to 60 days in the jar.
THE HIGH: ***
I think the Pineapple Express is a little more 'edgy' than I'd like. I'm a fan of sativas and I like an energy high under the right circumstances. But with this one I find myself getting a little racey and anxious for the first 10 or 15 minutes. After that it drifts into a balanced high that's better suited to a party than sitting by yourself. I will say that things mellowed out considerably after another month in the cure jar, so I'll be putting this one away and trying some every few weeks until I get it where I want it.
The breeder's notes and other smoke reports describe this as more of an classic indica high, so maybe I had some stray sativa genetics showing up in mine. I think I have one of these seeds left, so at some point I look forward to growing it out to see if it's different.
