New Grower Baby steps and the cultivation of autoflowers

Did I forget to mention she broke ground monday?
I figure I should transpot on day 9, give or take 2 days?
But more importantly, make sure the soil is not wet in any form, shape or way, right? Not crisp, but, you know.
You know?

the general rule is, when the leaves reach the outside of the pot, transplant. Soil moisture should be on the dry side anyway, or at least on the way to drying out, get them roots looking for water. I think you've got a few days left, judging by your pics

Makes sense.
Also nice to have a rule of thumb to go by.
Cheers!

So close, yet. . .. Is the outer pot vital? I mean, I guess it is, what I should have asked was: What purpose does the outer pot serve? @912GreenSkell

The outer pot serves as light block and to keep the dirt contained in the skeletal inner pot. The way you did it is just fine. When you go to plant in your larger container(which i would do soon), i would carefully cut those flaps off. The less root restriction you get, the better off your plant will spread its root in the new medium. This is just a method for low stress transplants.

So, what happened was, I read around like a little whore. I come to the conclusion that "normal" transplant time is somewhere between day 7 and day 11. I'm thinking, being new and all, I would do my best to aim for nominal. Nine days. I did not take into account that it's not the days. Of course it's not the days. It's the plant. Of course it's the plant. For an experienced grower, I'm sure those numbers are valid. That their plant(s) will be ready for transplant day7-11. I am very new to this. Looking around at experienced growers plant, may day 7 plant looks like it's gonna be three days retarded by my inexperience come day 9. Too much indirect light and too much water. My best guesses. So thanks again @Ribbzzy for the rule of thumb. That's what put it into perspective for me.
So, now what. I'm not sure.

Ok, so I know what to do, then. Nice one!
Thanks for stepping in!

EDIT: Oh, and we're getting rain tomorrow, so I figure I'd transplant friday. Dunno why I don't wanna transplant on a rainy day.
