Back to afn after an absence, thought id post up my current grow and keep a journal of the learning experiment. Have about a year growing mephisto autos under a mars II 700 but changed around my setup from 1 room to a veg box and flower room to save power (or increase production).

My veg box is in an old 500g fish tank stand i use for a workbench now. Dimensions are about 5.5'x3.5'x3.5'. Orca film, 4x4' t5 and 3x23w cfl. Temp 73 humidity 45-55% lights 24 hours.

Plants are in mostly sunshine mix, airpots and have been using water from my fish tank lately. Today they are 3 weeks old and have been getting dutch master veg a+b and add.27, calimagic, silica and ph'd to about 6 for a week.

Only thing i notice is the edges of a couple leaves on 2 plants are curling up a bit but not too concerned since everyone seems happy.

A couple more days, a bit more growth. Curious when i should move plants into the bigger room under hps. Think later this week ill move 2 and see how they react. Also, any ideas what setting to run the hps? Light is most efficient 600-750w but can be run from 300-880w. Was figuring on starting around 400w and slowly cranking up the power. Really curious about how hps will grow vs the mars led i used for the last year or so.

Any tips? Figure the veg box is better spectrum but less light, hps im afraid might cook em? Think im going to have to move all at once due to humidity being too low if i move only a couple small plants and dont want to roast the whole batch. Maybe im being paranoid but this gavita seems silly bright to me

Well the ladies are around 4 weeks old so i decided to move 2 of them under the hps since temp and humidity are stable and proper. I chose the middle sized chemdoggin and middle sized sour crack. Figure ill monitor and compare growth since i have no idea when i should move plants from veg box to flower room.

Decided the hps room was working as planned so i moved the rest of the ladies in. Currently set to 500w, ill be crankijg up the watts as we go. Really excited to see what this light does for my plants. Havent seen too many people mention em, anyone else running gavita double ended? Guy at the grow shop said i should be plesantly surprised.

Heres the ladies and a pic of the light. Sour crack are starting to preflower, chemdogging are going to be big i think.

Been a week so its time to update. Sour crack are doing ok i suppose, really flowering and looking pretty good. Some sort of deficiency/nute lock showing on some lower fan leaves i originally thought was from careless watering. Not disappointed by any means as they are already getting pretty frosty and smelly but not looking like they will produce much.

The chemdogging on the other hand... oh boy. Just started to preflower and are going to be good size. Trunks are really thick and side branching is excellent on all 3. Cant wait to see what these will become!

Sour crack just started flower nutes and increased terpinator, chemdoggin is getting slammed with insane amounts of water and veg nutes and loving it.

And a pic of the S.O.D.K. after 4 month cure i love to blaze before plant work.

Chemdogging really preflowering now. Think today they will get their first flower nutes. Still not sure what i did so right and wrong during this grow because the sour crack are small and unimpressive and the chemdogging are looking great. Anywho heres the garden

Pretty sure the chemdogging hermied. Never delt with a male plant but the lowest couple branches on each plant at the bottom budsite or 2 (about 12 per plant) i found what i think are underdeveloped balls. I removed em all and will keep a close eye out. Dont think any were mature as they are so low on the plant but heres what i found
