That sounds like a pain in the ass. I think just using the bases as bottom feeding as intended is where Im going to start. See if I can get that to work before I try anything else.

Yeah exactly I made my own cause I didn’t want to spend the coin on the ac trays. Just used a plant saucer two risers and wicking rope and it worked great. Details are in my organics thread

If you're in coco and keep bottom-feeding without runoff, won't you get a build-up of salts?

the base has a rez of 1.3 gals. I would think it would drink all that before I would need to check ph and ec. Especially in flower.

I couldn't get coco to work great with autopots. That's me though. Also don't see a lot of successful grows with bottom feeding coco. I'd say stick to soil if you want to bottom feed. Or you can get into DTW coco for probably the same price. It's only tubing, fittings, drippers and timers really if you already have meters

Then what do you do?
Do a Drain and a flush of the system and then return back to the starting point?

I'm glad that was had to worry about it, but it is interesting.

Edit................. And when do you know to do this? Just put it on a cyclic schedule? Surely not watching the girls for signs. That would just be too late.

I think you have to replace all fluids every few weeks and expect to deal with deficiencies. Atleast with autos, it's pedal to the floor till harvest and you can not worry too much about the plants look.

You could be right. I never have grown with coco or bottom feed. Thats why I put it out there so I dont shoot myself in the foot.

I like soil because strains that take 70 days actually take 70days. Hydro tends to extend the growth and stretch stages, often times becoming 100+day plants. The most appealing thing about autos for me is the speed! At 100+ days you can grow any photoperiod strain you want and have a monster!

Im sticking with soil. I agree one of the main reasons I like autos is there short time frame. And light schedule cant beat not having to worry and do basically any light schedule you want.
