Auto Seeds Autoseeds random discussion thread (for semi-off topic chat relating to autoseeds products)

I was gonna create a thread but since theres alot of experienced ppl in this post I might as well ask. Grow tent heating? Right now im using grow tents and heating with space heaters and my humidity is low and they aren't ver efficient. Ive heard of these radiant tube heaters and am wondering if anyone has used these or has a better way to heat these tents all of them all hooked together and circulate the same air so im open to any ideas.

Now I could be laughed at for this but I've gone as far as putting a hot watter bottle near the intake worked pretty well but Id alway use a tube heater mines 20watt and heats my 60x60x140 grow space lovely.

I even spent a bit extra for one with a built in thermostat to save me messing about.

@Tyler_Durden88 that stuff us beyond me. I can make some educated guesses but they are guesses. I'd say you can add more lights but after a while it turns into a problem

@Growtogrow I too am a ham. I remember doing foxhunts for transmitters in weird bands... now, what would be sick is to make a meshnet like some hams are doing (like me). Costs 100 bucks. I do have a fm transmitter that goes about 10-20 as mikes... but I'm driving whenever I pirate radio...
I need to ask to get the powers that be to allow me to run an IRC chat room or something, I liked when we tested out the live chat a few months ago.

Well there's something that I use for heating. No it's not laughable to the guy that was talking about putting the hot water bottle in front of your intake fan I use the hot water bottle so to speak but it's actually was a trash can full hot water or 5 gallon buckets or I also use gallon jugs and set them in my outside garden and use the sun solar heat them throughout the day. They usually last about 3 or 4 hours after the sun goes down with them set very close to the plant I don't know where I ever got that at but I've been doing it for a long time probably off of one of those gardening magazines back in the 80s because I've been doing it a long time.

But and our local stores here in the states Walmart there's an electric heater that's an electric radiator it's got an oil inside that heats up but once it gets warm it works just like a regular steam radiator it's got a thermostat on it it's not very big it's only about I don't know maybe 20in wide by about 25 in tall in about 4 in thick maybe 5 so it's not a very big space you can put a fan behind it or near it to blow the heat around or just blow heat around inside your tent but they work very well you have to deal with dry heat but you can put a pan of water in there or a cold Mist vaporizer to help with the moisture if you need it.[emoji482]

Hey Miss Universe LOL.[emoji481][emoji482]
A fellow Hammy that's pretty cool. I'm sorry to say I haven't been an active ham operator going on 20 years now my last transmission was 1995 shortly after my father passed away I just kind of fell out of it didn't seem so significant once cellphone hit the the scene.
I used to run Citizen band radios as a kid in the 70s and then I had bootleg radios throughout the 80s and 90s I got my ham ticket in 1990. I guess I really never cared for being a ham it wasn't nowhere near as fun as bootleg radio I used to run RCI 2950 and Superstar 3600 my favorite radios of choice and of course I was a truck driver so I had massive power to put behind those. I e Texas Star DX at 500 watts and 800w and 1000 watts
I could melt the carpeting on the floorboard of my truck. My furthest contact was from Michigan to Johannesburg South Africa contact and was confirmed with QSL cards in exchange that was during solar cycle it's been a long time I think 1987 it was awesome I still remember the conversation like it was yesterday. And my farthest ever listening contact was from Antarctica that same year. my furthest mobile to mobile contact was Michigan to Hawaii and I could probably say that I talked to Australia once but I never got a QSL card.[emoji482]

Life happens and changes a lot. Once cells hit it was the beginning of the end for ham as it was known but now its used a lot for or a data when not on a cell network like say you're on the front range and you have no cell reception (as I'm sure you know and I'm preaching to the choir)

I accidentally blew my entire care wiring system on an 88 honda accord dx hatchback because I wasn't thinking and didn't put in a cap...

Farthest qsl I got was very umm... interesting... I was able to have the pleasure to talk to a university student (female) in DPRK. No politics or anything. We just talked about how north Korea has a lot of women doing high profile jobs... oh and about cute boys! I guess the quest for knowledge and cute boys are some reigning factors that all human women share. She spoke really good English and spanish. I guess she was a polyglot.
The QSL card took me a year to get because I had to provide the recording for my government to simply let me get the card to show i said hi to another human. And then I wasn't allowed to send a card back... but I was allowed to keep talking to them. It is cool to have a post mark and stamp from n Korea. I am sure I'm on Permanente watch lists but I have no want to do anything but keep to myself. I did tell the girl that my government wouldn't let me send one. I did have a swiss friend drop one off at the DPRK's consolate in Switzerland and they got it to the student as planned.

Those options wouldent work for me being the average daytime temp in the basement is 55 degrees and can drop to 40 on really cold nights. I have a thermostat wired in and heat lamps for reptiles as well to help but im looking for a type of radiant heat that wont dry out the environment as much as the space heater I have.i need kind of like baseboard heat in a house. I dont run a 24hr light cycle either so nighttime is the most cold. Ive heard of these tube heaters but they are hard to get in the usa. Im just gonna have to keep researching and figure somthing out.
