Dutch Passion AutoFrisian Dew + Green Poison Auto Grow [UK Outdoor]

Thnaks for the tips :D I'll lay off the nutes for the moment xD

Your story about roots scared me a bit D: The GP is about half the height of the soil now, so I want to move it outside. The problem is temps are gonna drop to about 6/7C (44F) at night, and there is some heavy rain forecast for tuesday :/ I'm thinking I should move it early tomorrow morning so it has a good day of sun to welcome it outside. What should I do?

(gonna water tomorrow day 15 and take new pics :D )

i know it sucks and dosnt look like its clearing up much. my advice is to put them in a bigger pot regardless even if it is a medium sized pot; ultimately the stress caused by transplanting twice instead of once is going to cause less damage than root binding the babies. the reason i suggest medium sized pots if bigger ones are not available is that you can put them outside when the sun decides to make an appearance and take them in at night or when there's some heavy rain. thats what im doing at the moment and mine are healthy, even if they are a bit slow on the growth front atm...

looking forward to pics :)

So after reading what you said about transplanting when the seedling is 1/3rd the height of the soil, I went down to check. The GP was actually the same height as the soil, and the FD is about half the height, so I got a bit worried.

I took the taller GP out the cup to check the roots, and there were about 5 or 6 roots visible, not curling around the cup or anything just visible. Also some of the soil at the bottom crumbled off so I didn't want to put the seedling back in the cup.

I put it into a pot in my garden I had prepared (about 6l) and but a oasis bottle as a cloche over it. The lid wasn't on though and its rained :/ I didn't want to put the lid on when it was wet cause the humidity would get too high and the plant could rot. Anyways I'll probs transplant the FD tomorrow and ready them for a rainy day on tuesday. Fingers crossed they survive! D:

looks like you timed it perfectly then, nice one :p at this point in time dont worry about rot yet as there is not enough density to the plant for any rot to set in without the wind stopping it. That said, rot and mold will be our largest problems when the babies start flowering. last summer (shit summer so hopefully better this time around) i probably lost half my harvest due to rot and had to pull it all early. the key is to keep them as dry as possible i found last year - the rain followed by reasonably hot sun made ideal rot conditions. this year i am debating whether to buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190824423291?var=490143417048 and lst them so height wont be such an issue, just because i know this summer will be sketchy and rot will most likely ensue. moreover, seeing as you have 2 plants, this particular greenhouse will probably be a good idea - chances are your FD will do better at resisting mould if it is separated from the green poison. (BTW my GP has just been put in a pot after it germed so hopefully will see it sprout soon :D) so if i were you id poke some holes in a bottle (bottom half of a bottle for max light) at the bottom (heat rises so it wont let the heat out so much) and put it over your plants which will create the heat we lack in the uk.

Was your GP a free one from attitude? :D

Anyways, Day 15, Nuted the plants twice but I've stopped that, apparently not such a good idea xD Theyve been growing about half the speed as they would usually, because of the cold I'm guessing. Both are now potted outside :D And I've gotten off my ass to take some nice pics for you guys:

(Seedling with 1 set of leaves is the FD)
:smokeit:
oh and the first pic was just on my camera from their first day :D

Keep on trucking Dank, our uk weather is a bit shit again but im sure your gonna produce some sweet smoke with that lot. The mistakes you make this run you can correct next run - autos and their dislike of transplanting are a nightmare for outside growers without a decent grow room to start them off. Starting in the final pot or bucket seems to be the best route and this makes it even harder for us.
Theres a few more uk growers doing it outside this year so hopefully pooling all our tricks, tips and results come harvest time we should get a decent start off system going.
Im sure half the problem is when we see the Americans and the southern European grows starting off early were all like "right its time to rock" lets germinate some beans ! Truth is we probably should be waiting for June and just do one run of more plants ?
That cloche thing that Ganjanoob suggests is probably worth a punt for a tenner if you growing in the garden, ive got something similar thats like a mini dome tent but im gonna have to camo it up somehow for a geurilla use - will let u know how it goes.

Defo agree with starting in june, I've got the other 2 FD seeds from the 3-pack that I'm gonna germ in june, i wouldn't be surprised if they doubled in yield/quality, the whole of this week and the next is looking rather grim :/

The problem is, in the time between late april to late may, its not quite summer, but we get odd weeks with amazing weather. So we end up not being able to resist germing, then a week later and its pretty much winter again D:

Anyways, I'm going to look into getting a mini-green house/propogator, for the moment I cut 2l bottles in half and make air holes in them to shield the plants from the rain tomorrow. Also put some anti-slug pellet things around the edge of the pot. Fingers crossed they make it, otherwise the summer will be expensive :/

:smokebuds:

My hat's off to you guys growing outsider, so many elements to worry about, but then again that's why plants have thrice the genes we do!!!! Can't wait to see em get their groove on!!!

hey guys,

yea just gotta hang in there and be patient. in for a long summer outdoor grow this year it looks like. bbc weather says this will be around for another week or so which is crappy. DANK remember to bring ur babies in at night - its getting down to about 5 celcius at night here when in reality you dont want to go below 10 :/ (that said your FD will fair reasonably well in most lower temps). here are some photos of mine - the 2 littluns are auto haze and white cheese and the big guy is an OG13 who was seeded a few days before the others. these are around 2 weeks old which is somewhat disappointing - you can really see the difference in planting it a week earlier on the OG13 as it lapped up those coupla sunny weeks. regardless last year i seem to remember after a slow first few sets of leaves there was a week of sunshine and they blew up so hopefully the same will happen. my GP hasnt sprouted just yet but patience is a virtue i guess :L

more photos to come when anything actually bothers to happen.

P.S photos are a bit sketchy - taken on my phone and it the reflection makes themm look yellow in the center - they are actually incredibly healthy which is a plus i guess. just need them to do some growing now!

I haven't been taking them in atm, don't know where I could put them :/ Will they die if I don't take them in do you think?

They've got 2l bottle cloches atm to keep them from the rain, I hope they dont die on me :( Where I am the temps are dropping to 7/8C at night

they wont die but itll shock them a bit - i.e they'll grow slower. u sure? u can literally throw them anywhere inside - preferably a windowsill so they get some morning light tho.
