Hey DANK, are they getting too much water? They look like they may be getting to much love bro!!!

What kind of soil do you have them in? Could it be too HOT????:hot:

As I'd hoped, the yellowing on the tips of the green poison has disappeared :D The Frisian Dew still seems quite behind and deformed, but I think I know why :D

For stealth too when they go out put a hole in the final pot near the rim then gently lst them away from the sun by tieing them down somewhere around the 4th or 5th internode. Check the arc of the sun next time its out !

Yeah I got some major LST planned to keep them on the DL, got an app on my phone to show the sun path :D

I'm pretty sure they havent had too much water, in 7 days I've fed them 3 times, between 10ml and 25ml each time, so not too much. I have a feeling the soil might be too 'hot' cause I don't know what type of soil it is :} The air temps are between 50F and 75F (10C and 25C) though, so quite cold :D

As for the AutoFrisian Dew, which has 1 leaf longer than the other, and the first proper leaves seem weak and twisted, I think i know why. For the first day or two the seed shell was holding the 2 first leaves shut, and I had to pull it off quite hard. I think when the seedling was really young it put a lot of energy into popping that shell off by growing one of the leaves long. So now the plant is weaker and slightly deformed, maybe a few days behind. I think this because both seedlings have had the exact same treatment, and the other one has been doing fine. I think I'm going to give the frisian a hint of high N nutes next feed to boost it a bit.

Keep the comments coming :D

I ordered 3 autofrisian dew seeds yesterday for my first ever (outdoor) grow. Happy to see that I'm not the only on the forums to try it out. Lots of luck to you mate!

subscribed :)

Some autos are sensitive to high feed concentrations in the early days, some people don't really start "feeding" them untill the third week

To late :D gave them a little feed today with 2 drops/400ml(recommended 5-10 drops per 500ml). They seemed to lift up after the feed but I might have imagined it :) the moment I see bad signs I'll switch back.

Potted a strawberry plant in the garden today too, not quite worth its weight in gold but should provide some distraction (and strawbs) xD

:toke:

hey dank,

for sure the roots will be burnable by some soils that were not intended for seedlings, often soil suppliers will have one soil for seedlings and one for larger plants. Try to keep the plants warm, bring them in on a night time if it is cold while they are young. And I wouldn't really be thinking of any nutrients for a while yet. The main thing is to keep them warm and make sure the roots are not waterlogged. good luck

I don't think its a root problem cause the other seedling is doing fine, and they've had the same treatment. I'm pretty sure it was the seed shell that shocked it. The air temps have been around 50F to 60F at night, warmer in the day :/

Anyway I've looked at them to day and they appear to be doing much better, the slightly deformed a-frisian has definitely resumed growth :D Looks much happier.

Question: Should I continue to give the mildly nuted water if they don't show any bad signs? I could wait for 2 or 3 weeks, but they seem ok with what I've done. Could there still be damage if its not visible? The questions of a first time grower!

i spent 10 mins writing a great reply and the internet died along with the post ffs. anyway here it is in far less detail, bullet pointed:

- i am growing and have grown at the same latitude as you in the uk and have a coupla babies germed at exactly the same time as you :p
- wait a couple of weeks until you use nutes.
- the early problems were almost certainly caused by pulling the seed off - its a classic mistake i made my first time. they need to push it off on their own so they can adjust naturally i guess.
- get them in bigger pots when they are approx 1/3 the height of the soil level - most growth is in their roots atm. my first grow i waited far too long and they were rootbound; when i pulled them up after harvest i found their roots had remained in the same little pot area and so all my nutes i gave them in their water were mostly useless as there were no roots the lap them up outside the little pot perimeter.

cheers and GL

Thnaks for the tips :D I'll lay off the nutes for the moment xD

Your story about roots scared me a bit D: The GP is about half the height of the soil now, so I want to move it outside. The problem is temps are gonna drop to about 6/7C (44F) at night, and there is some heavy rain forecast for tuesday :/ I'm thinking I should move it early tomorrow morning so it has a good day of sun to welcome it outside. What should I do?

(gonna water tomorrow day 15 and take new pics :D )
