Nutrients Autobot 1st Grow, Biotabs & Mephisto

Yea, I've been using it..I have the Bio PK.
No more boom boom or water misting now on right?

If you have an issue that needs rescuing you can still use boom boom mate. Just only on leaves, NOT buds. It’s tricky but I’ve done it a couple of times to rescue “sick” plants in flower.

Looking great! I also recommend building something, I will be going with QB's more than likely and just assembling them myself, although in Canada by the time I get the bits and pieces it's the same cost as ordering the kits. So I continue to research.

Sorry to thread jack for a moment here, I have been wondering about this aspect as far as lights for autos. I have researched but can't find solid info. 25W per square foot is fine for autos? I would love to know for sure as it would make configuring my tents easier.

Plenty. 20w per foot is plenty for autos. Remember with autos you can just leave the light on for more hours. It’s all about the daily light requirement. Or just lower the lights.

To be honest for autos I would forget about watts per square foot. Better to co concentrate on a good light source above all plants.

That’s why I would always say go with cobs. A 50w cob above an Auto is plenty if there are other cobs in the tent. Cobs with no reflectors give off light at a wide angle so overlap is quite large. I use 5 x 50w cobs with 5 or 6 autos. Because they’re cobs my entire tent is universally lit with quality light.

I’ve had 400g out of 200w of cobs with mephisto autos. Documented somewhere on this forum in a grow journal. That was in a 3x3 tent, so roughly 22w per square foot.

Good quality/spectrum light and good genetics are what’s needed.

Switched to the ole' EYE yesterday Super HPS from here on out. Tent shots will be shitty when I happen to have it on. Everything is still going really well! Got bud formation closeups for all 4 here as well! Starting to get that waxy leaf action! @MedCzech :d5:
Frost is coming in nicely! Looks to be a cold summer:eyebrows::eyebrows:

Very nice frost indeed! Nows the fun part where you watch those buds swell.

Great info, thank you. Will make for a cooler room this summer and energy savings. :pass:

No problemo.

Obviously if you’re growing giant arse autos you’re gonna need more light per plant. But I’ve seen a 12oz plant grown on here with 100w of cobs for the first two thirds of its life and then a few weeks with 200w.

The other thing about cobs particularly, because of the multiple light sources plants grow differently. Because there is literally light everywhere, it’s really easy to get a multi-cola’d plant with just some leaf tucking at the right early stages. So if you do some decent LST / tying down and spreading, you’re gonna maximise yields and maximise the advantage the multiple light sources are already giving you.

You touched on my personal angle on growing there. Minimum energy use. My tent uses 310w total. That’s 250w of cobs, 40w of small bar heater, 10w for my super efficient extractor and 10w for my mini fans. I also try to minimise water usage, and cobs also help with that due to cooler temps so less water uptake for plants.

I assume though...all cobs are NOT created equally...and do you mix the spectrums up? Do you run cool and hot colors mixed in together, or just literally get 4 or 5 of the same exact light?

You’re correct mate. But the well known quality brands are all good. A lot of people use Citizen cobs as they’re not too far behind more expensive competitors efficiency wise, but they’re cheap as chips.

I use exclusively 3500k spectrum dude. Veg and bloom. Others use 4200k all the way through. Some mix up and some use a different spectrum for veg and bloom stages. I like the way autos grow under 3500k. I have a 6000k (or so) T5 for early veg but only use it on photo plants.

So I just buy 5 cobs, 5 cob holders, 5 heat sinks, a power supply and some wire. That’s it! And some aluminium or whatever to make a frame, or you can hang individually. Lots of people like having 5 separate cobs like autocobs and similar so they can adjust individual heights. I just put the cobs high to start with and leave them there.

Nice! Thanks for the good info! Sounds simple enough really....just trying to get an idea. I have quite literally an entire year to figure out what I wanna do lol

Ok guys...Week 6
Got some yellowing lower fans, and light pale green secondary leaves and sugar leaves on MBAP

And my Skywalker, I'm not sure...looks like a bit of tip burn, and possibly something else too. Anybody got any ideas? Is it too late to do anything?
Friday everything was fine...now its Tuesday evening, and I have this. Everything was going SO well!
