G’day all,

I have a northern lights auto that won’t flower. It grew pistils at about 4 wks old and haven’t progressed any further than that. They’re at the 7 week mark now. Light schedule is 18/6.

I’ve done abit of reading and some say to change the lighting schedule to 12/12. Others say to give it 24-36hrs of dark and then return to the plant to the same schedule.

The ideal situation would be to do something then return it to the tent with the other strains on 18/6 that are doing well.

Has anyone had any experience with this rather than hearsay? Then managed to have a successful grow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take a top pic if possible, I can tell you, I’ve grown many NL and they are among the slowest in my experience, I have one now on day 85 and still have 2 weeks left.

That’s the best I’ve got right now mate. Does that help?

I have a Berry auto that hadn't flowered after 43 days. I tried the 24 hours in the dark and no luck. I ended up moving it to 12/12 and it flowered and is doing really well. At 79 days now and it's getting some nice buds. I think I'll yield less due to the light schedule change but it still has a couple more weeks to go.

Thanks mate. I fear that may be the only way forward for me too.

what breeder is this one? this happens fairly often I find,... it's a breeding problem most likely, and while some auto strains do take longer to fully bloom, by this time it's safe to assume it won't auto, or should be test-forced by going 12/12,....

Appreciate your reply.

I can’t tell you exactly what breeder except that they were bought from Seedsman.

I’m wondering whether going to 12/12 for a short period of time works to initiate flowering? Then reverting to the normal schedule of 18/6 etc and the plant will continue to flower. Or revert back to veg.

Flip it to 12/12 and might as well treat it like a photo

That’s what I wanted to avoid as I have other autos that are doing well in the tent.
