Auto topping thread, pushing the auto limits;)

Good day growers im a master photo and auto grower.but my passion is with autoflower seeds.i been on a mission for 5 years growing now trying diffrent methods of training on autos to see what they truly behold.truth is autos aint no diffrent to a normal plant other than they flower on there own.u can top lst supercrop and defol autos with monster results if done at the correct time.oviously every plant is diffrent so always use the seed info as a rough guide;) and a short plant can yield just as much as a tall plant;) in this thread i will show u all along the way of the true limits of autos and there true potential as i grow them for u all to see;).also if ur an auto grower who likes to push the limits,do speak up and all pics of ur autos and talk and all questions welcome on pushing the auto limits.here a few examples of the results achived topping an auto young followed by later lst.few heavy defols along the way ,gives u an army of dominant colas and a big heavy yield.and a beautiful plant.here is automazar topped and lstd;)

Looks perfect! I like the way you manually manipulated the stem to get that nice 90° bend. You don't need any help with LST. You are a natural. We could all learn a thing or two from you.

Thanks! The stem was very flexible for me and didn't really take any effort. This is the AutoSeeds transiberian strain which I think normally gets to 30 to 40 cm in height. Before LST she was at 34cm and I think yesterday was day 21 for her. Tonight I'll do some more after seeing what the bulk of here did to recover and hopefully that extra light penetration will get her to bulk up some of those smaller growth sites.

So do I continue LST as needed and stop when she flowers or just keep going as long as stems aren't too stiff?

I train well into flower there's always Room for tweaking the plant will tell you what you need to do.
She will be closer to 90cm than 30.

@autobeast

Tomorrow I'm going to try LST for first time on my first plant. I just want to make sure I understand everything before I do.

Here's my game plan and please let me know if I'm right.
So assuming yellow line is where stem meets soil I want to tie around area of red line to support stem and roots while tieing around area of blue line in opposite direction? I want top of plant to try and be horizontal and the direction I bend it should be to minimize growth on underside so as much of plant as possible gets light?

Plant is around 22ish days and about 6 days since my failed FIM attempt.
Hi.dude sorry I missed this.bending it this way will even out ur canopy.but looking at ur plant.not tight node spacing.not much to play with.what lights are u using ?.she looks happy good job so far.happy growing;)

I'm using a sf1000 light. I was getting some curing on top leaves before LST when I tried using a second sf1000 light. Now I have the second light on lower setting as well. Tonight I'll check to make sure there is no issues.

Did I not need to LST because of larger node spacing?

The LST is going to provide excellent benefits. Keep going. You can try moving the light a few inches closer and give it a few days. Check for light stress. plants may be stretching to the light. You will do great!

I played around some more tonight. Not pretty and I'll probably do it differently next time, maybe with string. Lowered light a little and second light is on too.

This is what I saw tonight when I checked.

I moved some more things around and it's far from perfect but as things grow I think I'll be able to manipulate the branches better. This is what she looks like now from the top and side. You can see the side that I hope to fill with more growth.

Looks good. By the time you have 2 under your belt you will be a pro. Does seem a little leggy. You will figure that out as well. Some strains are more leggy to begin with. My Sour Kush is by far the most leggy plant I have grown no changes of lighting at all.
Remind me what the breeder states as the grow time on her?

I wouldnt lst it much more.less.nodes mean less.growth, branches to play with.u may gain a few new dominant colas but not many.make sure all.growth can see good light and ul be all good.happy growing every1;)
