I admire your dedication, foresightedness, and patience man! That must be tough to ration the dough for a long term venture like this and still make do on a limited budget like that.

I've grown both of these strains before and they came out fabulous! The HSO Blue Dream was a heavy yielder and the DP Durban Poison was a connoisseur's delight. Gorgeous bud with a strong spicy licorice flavor and a soaring high.

I wish you all the best on this grow, I'm subbed up!
I seen that Tang used Plagron so I checked it on Amazon. They only have Plagron coco listed so I assumed he uses coco. I checked out there site and see that they have peat light also. As an old dirt farmer I rarely ever had any kind of nutrient problem. Monday I started having leaf discoloration. So I checked out some diagnostic post and seen it was cal/mag deficiency. It was the same with my Blue Dream auto. The GH Trio feed chart had 2.5 ml C/M for late veg. I bumped it up half a ml with no results. Kept bumping it up to 5 ml and the girls are looking green again. Next run I think I am back to peat based mixes of my own. Mix, plant and water with teas according to growth cycle is easier than teaching old dogs new tricks.

I've had good success with soil, namely BioBizz LightMix and Roots Organic. You can probably find either or both of these at your local hydro shop.

I think Plagron is a more European brand and hard to find stateside. If you want to stick to a mix with more coco like @TaNg, check out ProMix. I've seen folks use it on here with a lot of success. I think @A-Train has used it in the past with good results. One of the good things about it is that you can usually find it easily at your local home improvement store too.

I used Pro Mix outdoors and had good results with it. I made my own mix with it as a base and then let it cook until it was no longer hot. Then mix it 50/50 with native soil and have some 8 foot trees.

I am at the end of week six from seed. And it has been a learning week. I started getting leaf tip burn and first thought it was my light to close. Raised the light and still new shoots coming out with the same problem Went to a leaf diagnostic site and seen it was nutrient burn. So I backed the cal mag and Flora Grow down a mill each. They are doing well now. Durban Poison A shot up 10" this past week. While B did 5". The top of B is about as tall as the side branching on A. So I will tie down the top of A so I can lower my light so to have better coverage for B. They are lanky girls reminding me of old school Sativa's. The flowers on A are uniform in size from the top to the base because of light penetration. She will go on full bloom nutrients this week. B is about a week behind. Some pics of A.

Next is the tent at the end of week 6 from seed. Seeds were from Mary's Seeds and the girl in front was a free Blue Dream Auto. Durban Poison A to the right and B to the left.

If A is substantially taller than B and you're worried about getting even light coverage, doing some LST or supercropping may be a good idea. I would also definitely recommend finding something like a milk crate or blocks or something to elevate the smaller one in your tent. That way you can keep the tops of the plants at equal distance from your lights.

I did exactly that with my DP Durban Poison and all the bud on it was filled out from top to bottom. Not a larfy bud on it.
