I didn't think EC could be this high in DWC. I always thought DWC EC should be lower than dirt and coco. I was told before not to go over 2.2 EC. My girls upper fan leaves are going yellow in some instances and not growing that quickly so I'm wondering now if I'm under feeding them Am always afraid of over feeding and locking out nutes in soil and coco due to high salt build up. I think I'm going to switch completely over to DWC sometime soon. At least with DWC you don't get salt build ups. Any thoughts on this?
Also when doing your weekly maintenance how do you decide when to increase the EC? My understanding of DWC is that you check the EC and if it goes up it means you're overfeeding them, so you should add some plain water. If the EC goes down quickly then you're under feeding them in which case add more nutrients.

EDIT: P.s. What is the height on your grow tent? I've a 2 metre high grow tent arriving in a week (fingers crossed) with a number of GN LEDS and a Gravita Pro HPS and an 8 Pot IWS DWC system. Will be growing Think Different and Auto Mazzar for the very first time in this system.

The earth is no longer flat and certain Ladies may take a higher EC and thrive upon it.... Read DWC Maestro Mr Seymour Buds threads several times over especially the Think Different one... he is a wealth of knowledge and was the source of inspiration for the King to take up DWC....
Not if you maintain the system properly..... EC may rise when water levels fall if the ladies aren't using the nutrient... again read Maestro Mr Seymour Buds threads several times over they are invaluable to someone wanting to get to grips with DWC...
The King starts at EC 0.8 and builds it up weekly by 0.2 till the ladies aint liking it (tip burn etc) and then backs down a touch... again read Maestro Mr Seymour Buds threads several times over they are invaluable
Unfortunately the bog standard 2m.... could do with a 2.5m high tent if any of the manufacturers would like to make the King one.... Could go really monster then...
Oooooh good luck... the same set up as the King almost.... Should be able to grow some monster ladies.... The King has a theory that Recirculating-DWC (lazy mans DWC) is inferior to individually maintained pots so your progress will be a must watch....
The King hopes you kick the Kings posterior (monster lady wise) then all the royal herbage will be vaped, the abdication rescinded, exile left and.....
the King will return with a glorious fanfare.. to out grow all the usurpers to the throne..... and claim the right to anoint the comfy day throne with his hairy butt and to settle and watch the loyal subjects grow their Bonsai trees...

Thanks for your very informative and concise reply. I appreciate it more than you know.I have read Seymour Buds Think Different DWC grow a couple of times now and have started to read through his Auto Mazar grow and am currently keeping tabs with his active Night Queen grow. I'm still figuring out who is who on here but yourself Mr gangamoto, Seymour Buds and TaNg have grabbed my attention by the bull horns. You are all on my unofficial heros list
The stuff you guys are doing is unreal yet it you guys make it look so easy. All of your guys grows are invaluable Thanks for the tips on the start EC and building it up weekly by 0.2 till the ladies are getting some tip burn then backing off a touch. I'm adding this to my notes file, which I've been building on since reading your guys grows.Wow your tent was 2m tall... I thought it was shorter... so your monsters were even bigger monsters than what I thought... good god I can't imagine what they would look like in real life. I think I'll be happy starting off with some 70cm - 100 cm autos with decent sized and crystally buds. Lets not put too high expectations on me yet!
I have to agree with you that theoretically individually looked after DWC pots should do better than lazy mans recirculated DWC pots. Your bang on that the IWS DWC kit recirculates the water from all the pots back into the reservoir to mix the water up and let you check the 'overall ph+ec' before pumping this mixed solution back into the pots again. It does this about 3 times every 24 hours.
If you would watch my progress it would be an honour. I feel a tad nervous about screwing it up while everyone's watching, stage fright anyone? But hopefully if I record everything carefully and present a well documented clear, concise and interesting grow journal the community can reign me in before I go too far off course. Then after a few grows I might be able to present a better representation of what IWS DWC is capable of. We'll see. Or maybe I have beginners luck and make monsters on the first go! Haha. I doubt it but yea.. we'll see.

Incredible grow!!! I realize this is a little old, but I had a question, more-so about the lighting.. I don't like to assume things ever, but by virtue of your grow, I'll go out on a limb here and figure that you've done numerous grows without LEDs.. Have you had a chance to grow any of these strains without LEDs, and then with the supplemental LED panel? If so, how drastic of a difference was there in growth rates, nute deficiencies, nute uptake, total time from seed-to-smoke, potency, etc??

Hi hi mate got talking to my local hydro store owner he said you go into his store and was telling me about your success with the buckets.
can I ask are you using standard original oxypots ? Just your edit above states 5ml of Dutch pro working out to roughly 0.25ml per litre so 20 litres ? Now forgive me as I am terrible at maths but my oxy pots roughly 1 inch below net pot is about 12 litres.
or are you making everything up in a separate res the filling pots up as required ?

Mr N at the shop great bloke taught me everything I know from being a young Prince....
5ml direct to bucket (standard bucket from aforementioned establishment)... I do not know the actual working volume of the bucket, base nutrients and silicon are made up in flexi tank and then additives direct to nutrient in each bucket.... Hope this helps my Princess....
