Seed Bank Attitude Seedbank order seized by customs.

I keep new breeders that pop up in this and one other forum I am part of sort of in the back of my mind and watch what they are doing for later reference.
I am very skeptical of most of them.
To be honest, I think 90% of them are total BS'ers just trying to make a quick easy buck.

Mitch has been one of the most upfront that I have observed.
I like supporting people like that and it is good to see on our forum.
I look forward to growing some of his gear in the future.

Pop mentioned why fem only..
Well, i don't know if it's a case of what came first the chicken or the egg..
but we are told by our distributor that there's minimal demand for regular seeds, not everyone is like a forum member interested in the plant and growing to the point of wanting to make their own seeds, some people
just want to set and grow commercially where males are redundant, then to the smaller scale growers, if you have a limited space and are growing for bud only do you want to lose plants to them being males.
Maybe some prices are getting out of control from some people.. I haven't checked in a long time, but historically there's always been hyped brands and beans selling for a silly amount.
but if you spend 80 bucks on 7 fems, how much weed can you buy for the same? Of course there's time and cost and risk to grow your own but I'm guessing you can pull way more in value than the original
cost.
for us we would like to produce regs, they are easier to make, less space required, less time, way more ease, but if there's no market and we are stuck with stock we can't sell.. It's a waste.

Also in regard to producing seeds in mass selling through any of the distributors, we only make 30% of the retail price, some make even less.
and it's not like that 30% is pure profit, packaging costs, tax, bills etc

cheers :)

Thanks Mitch! Good to have a enlightenment from someone who's earning his keep this way. Interesting that people don't care about regular seeds, And yours are worth whatever price! :Sharing One:

Some good points, greybear mentioned things are only worth what people pay.
there are different companies that can serve the majority of the market.
i think with some googling you guys could find knock off/anonymously produced seeds for a very cheap price, however be it with anything that is considerably cheaper than the real deal, proceed with caution, take a punt but beware. You could send your money to a mystery person and never receive anything or receive the wrong thing and on and on.
When you pay the real price for something you're paying for service and after service too.

and on the other end, you have real value and perceived value, I'm not sure they are still in operation, but there was a seed co. Called 'doggies nuts' or similar, dogs bollocks means the best, if that's just a British English expression.
they priced seeds ridiculously high, and I guess people with too much money or expectations paid it thinking they were getting something special however I never read one good review that would attest to the seeds matching or coming close to even 25% of seeds you could pick up from elsewhere.

a cheap seed co-op or club would be a nice idea, I'm not advising it as number 1 be careful of your safety, but I think this happens anyway naturally, between people that become friends on forums having a relationship built over time.
Its just done in private for fun, in my experience anyway.

Cheers all, and sorry if this was out of place in the original thread.

I buy off Herbies and pay the price for what I want and pay for stealth , for me it is a bargain as there is no way I can get these strains here , 1 plant covers all costs , if I have any spare I have close friends I sell some to that are just waiting to get there hands on it ,so for me I have no problems with the price .

Hey everyone, just a quick reminder (as it was just brought to our attention through a Reported Post;) it may not be the best idea to post which stealth methods you are using when choosing your shipping. This is an open, international forum and anyone can read these public posts (that includes LEO, customs agents, or those super-angry postal workers that some of you seem to think are jacking/smashing your beans from time to time.)

Describing what methods you are using and the description on your packages isn't doing any favors to the people trying to send them to you. Please use discretion when describing your shipping methods!

Thanks (and be safe!) :karma Cloud:

Seeds prices are great today in the 90's dutch passion seeds and sensi seeds in canada for 10 were averaging two to three hundered.

I like herbies too but if customs has them painted then they need to change their stealth. waiting on a stealth order from them to see if it makes it thru, but with nirvana their was nothing to indicate that it was from Amsterdam or from nirvana. great stealth. took me a few minutes to figure out where the seeds were hidden

My Nirvana order was so stealthy that the envelope the "Postcard" the seeds were hidden in was a bitch to open. At one point I thought I got ripped off. Then I pried the postcard open and there they were.

Interesting.

On page 177 of the third expanded edition of Psychedelic Encyclopedia the author reproduced a sales advertisement:

Effective prices 1981.

Afghani #1 and #2 (purple) $2.00

Nepali and crosses of above $2.00

Malawi $3.00

Indian cheapest at $1.00

Most expensive--Haze #1 thru #4 at $5.00 and a strain called Burning Bush $5.00.

With inflation wonder what 1981 dollars are today. Could be very close.

Cheers

In the early nineties if you wanted sensi seeds you had to go to Holland. Who was selling seeds in 1981? Was it some Holland seed bank I thought skunk weed was the first commercial strain from Sensi seeds. Learn something new everyday
