Took a winter Alaska road trip yesterday, to pick up our neighbors at the airstrip down the island. 120 miles, first 40 miles at our end gravel road through spruce-cedar-hemlock forest....

Then it opens up some down towards town

I was a little intimidating not knowing how much snow there would be up in the hills. Only saw two other vehicles till we were almost to town.:pass:

no traffic, the key to fun drive in those conditions
