well I found a few of the pics I took with my crappy phone... they aren't the best, but the last 2 of the plants ended up a good size for a tiny little 2 liter pot like that:

The one on the left yielded an ounce after 94 days from paper towel to curing in jars. She was grown under a superior UFO (much fuller spectrum) and never had any serious wilting episodes despite pump outages and my negligence.
She was topped 1 week before flowering and 3 lower branches removed.
The one on the right yielded only half an ounce (same 94 days). She was grown under a UFO that was only red blue and orange (no white, no infrared).
She couldn't be topped because she had an episode of severe wilting, followed by another less severe episode later in her life.
These are the genetics that so far have survived me the best, and truly felt speedy in flower. The one on the left was treated the best and smells great, is fairly dense, flowered fast, is crystally, and vapes smooth after only a week or two curing.
So far I am moving towards using sweet seeds fast versions for a while so that I can lower chances for poor genetics as these guys feel tough as nails.
My next run I am planning on doing an 8 plant run in a 3x2ft space with a 400 watt light. I'm going to do run to waste with a hempy mix and hempy buckets, and automate it so that in theory I can check on my plants far less, and maintain the rez much more infrequently. I am unable to press plants past a certain point of performance at this stage in my learning, and so I have decided to increase plant counts and make my grows "out of town proof".
Begin irrelevant rant on my current grow
Right now I have 2 plants in dwc with a scrog.
One is a green poison fast version, and the other a killer kush fast version. So far they are doing great about 5 weeks into veg. I used bloom nutes for veg because I wanted to take cuttings and didn't want the high nitrogen in the stalks as it supposedly decreases rooting rates.
After doing this, and It's a bit of an experiment, but I continued doing it for the plants in veg. I continued because my plants were by far the toughest they have been. Also, I remembered when reading Lucas on the Lucas formula, he claimed high nitrogen veg mixes produce longer, bigger, but hollow stems and stalks. So far I seem to be finding this to be true. When I try to defoliate the occasional lower/sickly fan leaf, it is a actually a bit
of a chore if attempted by hand, and the stems are noticeably denser when I move them under the screen.
This will probably be my last low plant count DWC grow. After this I am planning on going to a much higher plant count, and way more watts...
gonna try to nuke it down
So for now the plan is to roll with canna base nutes start to finish, using cannazym in DWC, but dropping cannazym when I go to hempy as in my limited experience it mildly affects PH stability and I want to eliminate all additives until I dial in growing with base nutes. Trying to go about as basic as I can in a way... Starting over.
End irrelevant rant on my current grow
One day I hope to return to the weed forums with a grow style worth sharing. For now my vision quest continues...
I want to figure out a and dial in a growing plan that:
- is a single closet sized space from paper towel until curing in jars (no veg/flower rooms, just one medium sized grow tent hidden deep within my home)
- runs 365 days a year because of high flexibility in maintenance periods
- no soil, so as to lower potential of smell and pest problems
- doesn't involve cloning/cutting/mothers (this is complexity I feel beginners and terrible growers like myself can't afford)
- yields 2 grams per day of the grow. So for example if it takes 100 days, it needs to yield 200 grams. I think with 8 fast version plants and 105 days from seed to curing in jars I can hit 8 ounces (224 grams) under 400-450 actual watts (expects only 1 ounce per plant).
With automated hempies I wont need to maintain the rez daily, instead weekly rez maintenance would be fine so my trips out of town wont stop my grows, and they can continue all year long.
These are my wild fantasies and plans that will probably fall short and be thwarted, but here they are and that's all I know ok bye :tiphat:
Thanks for stopping by, and good luck on your grows!
