Aksteel! I see a new growing machine in the making! Unbelievable first grow! Those moonstones look covered in trichs! She's such s tastey great daytime gal! Love the moonstone! You NAILED the YDB and showed her who the BOSS was! :slap: thank you for doing such a fine job with her... Curious to see what Ya think of both of the strains.... DA would love some honest feedback on the YDB as well... It's work in progress and I just want to keep refining this girl.... Lol I can see now how. Strain can take forever to create... lol I could keep at playing with these girls for a long time learning them...aKsteel I wish you nothing but further success in your quest for the homegrown dank!

I was looking at this same led light for a similar size grow tent due to height restrictions, would you recommend this LED ?? Did you run the CFL throughout the entire grow combined with the LED ? Do you thing the 144x3 reflector may have been a better choice ?? ( more light ) Did you run them 18-6 or 24 the whole time ( I may have missed that part of your log ) Thx & nice job for 1st time out !!

I will always recommend the mars-hydro lights. They are efficient well made lights that won't break the bank. I got good light penetration with 96x3 and was rewarded with some tight, dense moonstone buds. The Y.D.B. was grown in a gorilla 2x2.5x7 foot tent with a Mars II 400w light. I needed the taller tent because of the Y.D.B. height and the Mars II did a great job. Super dense buds. I did notice the 5w LED's in the Mars II did put out a bit more heat than the 96x3 reflector but not enough to concern myself with.
If I was to do it over I would have got the 144x3. It would fit perfect in a 4x2 tent and have great light coverage. The 96x3 worked great but in the 4x2 tent I could have fit the larger LED, and bigger is better...right?
I did not run any cfl lighting after I got my Mars-Hydro lights set up. I wanted to see what results I would get with just the LED lighting. This is all new to me so everything is a test. The next time I run some Moonstones I will tweak things a little to see what happens and adding some cfl side lighting could possibly be one of those adjustments.
As far as lighting schedule. I run my lights 24/0
Hope this info helps kml1966. I totally recommend all the mars-hydro products and when I set up a new Gorilla 4x2x7 tent( I want more head room to grow XL auto's) I will either get the 144x3 reflector series or two Mars II 400w lights. It will depend on how much I can spend at the time. Good Luck and thanks for checking out our grow.

SMOKE REPORT!!!!!
Thanks for the rep folks and for following our first grow. Also thanks to Yoda and Stone for providing some great genetics to work with. If you don't already know, I can't use cannabis do to drug testing for work, the point of learning to grow cannabis is for my wifes pain management. So this smoke report is second, and sometimes third hand. We have donated samples of both strains to friends of ours who are long time cannabis users so we could get more diverse opinions. So here we go :pop:.

Moonstone. 7 Day cure.
Smell: Started out smelling a little like alfalfa(I grew up on a ranch and know the smell well). Then after about a week it started to get a peppery smell. No skunk or sweet smell until you put it in a grinder. Then you get a sweet piney smell with a hint of Black pepper.
Taste: All reports said that it tasted great.
Smoke: Thick smoke but very smooth. Very little cough if any after a good bong hit.
The High: For my wife it was 2 hits off her little bong and she was high as hell:crying:. A very happy energetic high that had her laughing her ass off then she said it made her really relaxed. Not sleepy, but just very loose muscle and a general all over good feeling. She said she could feel it in her head almost immediately and then it mellowed out.
Friends report: Everyone said pretty much the same thing. Very potent head buzz that turns into a nice body high. One friend said if he hadn't see the plants grow and know for a fact that they were autoflowers he would have never believed it. He is a photo grower and now wants to try some autos.
Summary: Harvest point on the moonstones was mostly cloudy with a few clear trichomes. This was by far the best all around strain for my wife. Great for socializing and entertaining. Everyone loves the Moonestone.

Y.D.B. 7 day cure.
Smell:
Super piney with a little skunk. Love the smell of this Bud. Grind it up and it smells like Lemon pinesol.
Taste: All reports said this bud taste's great.
Smoke: Very smooth out of a bong. Not as thick as the moonstone but easier to inhale deeply.
The High: Only limited reports with this strain so far.
For Mrs.Steel. Very little head high, which she liked. Lots of tingling in arms and legs. Overall body relaxation leading to sleepy time. Very good if you have insomnia and don't like a heavy head rush buzz.
Friends Report: Very nice body high. Nothing in the head. He said he could tell it was more of a medical type strain because he didn't really feel "High", but had pain relief in his knee and back which helped him relax and get a good nights sleep.
Summary: I need to get more feed back for this strain. I have only had two people try it. For us it is a perfect balance with the moonstone. The moonstone gets you high and relieves pain without putting you to sleep. The Yoda takes the pain away while leaving you clear headed and helps you to relax into a wonderful nights rest. I couldn't have asked for two strains to begin growing with. Both strains are super resilient and suffered though a newbies mistakes and still gave us quality Medication. Thanks to everyone who helped us through this grow, and there are to many to list. AFN is the best community anyone could have in learning how to grow and produce quality meds.

I have the 144x3 and love it. My tent is about 3x4 and it seems to be working great. That said, I feel like 4 plants would be the max, even in that space. That said, I need to rethink the arrangement of my space, I can expand it to 4x4 at least, recenter my light to ensure it is hung more centrally and I think that it would accommodate a slightly bigger space quite well. That said, I absolutely love the light and have been enjoying it on this first grow - as have the ladies (of course!)

AKsteel & AKreso, thx for the feedback on the light !! I'm going to research this one a little more, & your comments are a huge help !!

AKsteel, what is that in your jars ?? looks like instant oatmeal packs.... I'm assuming to help keep moisture down.

peace !!
