Indoor AK 48 Auto at day 22

Hey Richard, I do see your dilemma concerning scheduling your harvest, but I see a lot of white pistils in your pics. I certainly would NOT harvest at this point. If you do, you will most likely end up with a really racy head high & cheating yourself out of a far better yield.

As far as "potency".....are you referring to THC ? or CBN? If a higher THC content is what you're looking for, then you want to harvest earlier, not later. In example, since I want a lower THC content & higher CBN content to help with anxiety, pain and insomnia....I won't generally harvest till later in the "harvest window" which is normally like 4 weeks. As the plants mature, the THC naturally declines as it converts to CBN and other compounds.

As far as your canna butter, using fresh herb is fine, but I'd recommend de-carbing in the oven first to dry them. It will allow much of the chlorophyll to evaporate and the herb will crumble very easily, making it much easier to work with and of course easier to weigh out the amount YOU want in your butter/oil.

We used 10 grams (dry weight) after de-carbing to a half pound of butter, but it turned out to be way too potent for us as it was just too much THC and not enough CBN due to the stage of maturation & the amount we used (10 grams) to make the butter.

But whatever the case, in consuming any canna infused edible, I strongly suggest you wait at least 2 hours before ingesting anymore. It can take that long before you ever start feeling anything. If you keep ingesting more every hour, you might be setting yourself up for a less than desirable experience.

Here's a good link to the decarb process.....http://www.thestonerscookbook.com/decarboxylation/

Check this one out too......http://www.allpotseeds.com/pot-brownies.html

There is another cool link from GW Pharma on their recommendations concerning the de-carb process if I can find it again, I'll post it here. I hope I've been of some help Richard, we're all here to both help and learn.

Nice looking plants Richard ... AFN has got some of the finest new growers ... unless you really have to it's seldom a good idea to harvest early ...

Hope everyone got to ring in the New Year in their own special way!!! Well here we are at week 11 and it's getting near harvest time now. I have stopped adding any nutrients as I'm sure there is a little left in the soil and in the leaves to finish out. It is still looking like it will be a staggered harvest, but with just a couple days between each. Here's a few pics just taken a bit ago.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and joyous New Year!!!

Harvest Day!!! After close inspection early this morning, the command decision was made to call it good and bring another successful grow to a close. I'll take some weights after a couple weeks of slow drying and post the results. The bag hanging in the middle of the pic is just popcorn bud & sugar leaf trimmings, destined for a quick de-carb and saved for making canna butter & canna coconut oil.

All in all, a pretty easy grow, and yield looks OK to me. Pheno differences for sure....growth rates, different smells ranging from to neutral to skunky to diesel. Will mix it all together in Forrest Gump "box of chocolates" fashion!!!

Thanks to all riding along for the journey, sharing and learning along the way. I love this small global community we have here, we are the truly blessed small percent of humankind.

Will be a while before any more auto fun grows now, I have 3 Black Jack photoperiod seeds I need to get in the dirt next & some high CBD Medical strain seeds for coconut oil infused medicine for those in need. I suppose I could start a thread in the photoperiod section if anyone is interested? Peace, love and good karma to all!!!

very nice. i think mine are just about there, im thinking sunday!

i will get some pics up this weekend, i haven't gotten around to it for a bit

i noticed you trim and hang nice and neat, i like that, not sure though, i also am considering drying as a whole plant or halves maybe, i like the thinking behind it, but havent really decided

Well, after a good drying I ended up with 107 grams of clean & wonderful smelling bud now curing in quart jars with Boveda packs. The trim and popcorn bud dried weight was 25 grams. Not bad for a quick and easy Auto grow, 100% organic in little 8 liter root pouch containers. Not quite a gram per watt, but it's more about quality than quantity for me. Getting the equipment and tent all cleaned up now in preparation for the next grow show adventure
