Hey Richard, I do see your dilemma concerning scheduling your harvest, but I see a lot of white pistils in your pics. I certainly would NOT harvest at this point. If you do, you will most likely end up with a really racy head high & cheating yourself out of a far better yield.
As far as "potency".....are you referring to THC ? or CBN? If a higher THC content is what you're looking for, then you want to harvest earlier, not later. In example, since I want a lower THC content & higher CBN content to help with anxiety, pain and insomnia....I won't generally harvest till later in the "harvest window" which is normally like 4 weeks. As the plants mature, the THC naturally declines as it converts to CBN and other compounds.
As far as your canna butter, using fresh herb is fine, but I'd recommend de-carbing in the oven first to dry them. It will allow much of the chlorophyll to evaporate and the herb will crumble very easily, making it much easier to work with and of course easier to weigh out the amount YOU want in your butter/oil.
We used 10 grams (dry weight) after de-carbing to a half pound of butter, but it turned out to be way too potent for us as it was just too much THC and not enough CBN due to the stage of maturation & the amount we used (10 grams) to make the butter.
But whatever the case, in consuming any canna infused edible, I strongly suggest you wait at least 2 hours before ingesting anymore. It can take that long before you ever start feeling anything. If you keep ingesting more every hour, you might be setting yourself up for a less than desirable experience.
Here's a good link to the decarb process.....http://www.thestonerscookbook.com/decarboxylation/

There is another cool link from GW Pharma on their recommendations concerning the de-carb process if I can find it again, I'll post it here. I hope I've been of some help Richard, we're all here to both help and learn.
