Indoor AK 48 Auto at day 22

Thanks Chester, ya the fan does help...and the storm is leaving the area, so the humidity levels should start dropping today....a quick check on the resin glands yesterday revealed mostly milky, but no amber yet. Looking for 5% amber on these girls.....but might sneak a little to make some canna butter for a batch of holiday brownies :vibe:

So they're at nine weeks, when do you plan on harvesting? I keep seeing most take me 11-12 wks? Is this correct I'm general?

Mine are a week behind, and am hoping they have as much time as possible for buds to fatten, think they are doin ok, just not real fat. Does this happen quick and late in their life?

Plus I'm still with being able to see far enough onto the future to flush, if I do flush.....I guess that's a debatable issue?

Hey Richard, I just checked my girls resin glands yesterday under the microscope, and the two furthest along are mostly milky (98% or better) and could be harvested now for a pretty good head high, but I'm looking for some amber colour, maybe 5% for a more balanced effect.

Tho the little wifey (and me) are craving some magic holiday brownies, so I might take a few select buds in a couple days to whip up a little canna butter and spend the day higher than a hawks ass

Richard, if you have a handheld scope, just check the resin glands being careful to be gentle and patient so that you don't break any and get the residue all over your scope lens and housing. If you see mostly milky coloured glands, with say 1-3 amber coloured per 100 milky, I'd say just go ahead and start flushing, then check the glands in a couple days and see where they are then as far as the ratio of milky/amber. Kinda depends on what effect YOU want.....the more amber generally means less of a head high and more of a body stone.....as a grower, YOU are in control of the desired outcome.

I hope that helps and at the end of the day, it does boil down to personal preference...another good reason to be a grower :pass:

Richard, this is a pretty good tutorial about when to harvest, flushing, etc. and lots more on their website. Hope it helps with some of your decisions as a new grower. http://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest

Thanks! Was just watching videos on the subject. Thanks for the help, I feel a bit more comfortable now.

Except now my worry is where to dry. I don't know that I'm going to harvest all five at once, but that is the only odor controlled, as well as humidity, room I got. So maybe I will do it in one shot, but some seem like they are a lot further.

I was thinking of harvesting some earlier for the cerebral high and some for the couch. A morning and evening variety.

Then I think, how much of that is strain specific and would it be worth it trying to keep the two seperate, not worth the hassle.

It will sort of happen when it happens and I have no doubt I'm gonna end up with pretty decent bud

ive read this several times. it is a really great article, those are few and far to find online.

do you have-/use one of them digital hydrometer?

seems like a useful item worthy of the 10-15$ ya?

tell me more about these magic holiday brownies, that sounds like a most awesome idea. im just concerned with cutting anything early. a "few select" buds huh? how does one select these buds and how many? and does this stunt and "greatly reduce yield" as i think ive read

im just about out and not sure if a can restock anytime soon. i cannot wait to have jars! to not have to go through the hassle and expense that i have for so long. thats a great thing

Here we are at week 10 & a belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!!! Well, the girls are fattening up and harvest time is drawing very near for a couple of them anyways!!!

I did swipe a few of the upper lateral buds that were mostly milky to make a little canna butter. After a quick decarb in the oven, the dried and shrivelled weight was exactly 10 grams. I used all of it in a 1/4 kilo of unsalted butter and used exactly half of the finished product for a single batch of brownies on Christmas morning.

Took about 2 hours before it started to kick in, by the 3rd hour, we were on cloud nine and didn't come down for another 6 hours....on a 1" x 2" piece each!!! We didn't expect it to be that potent or last that long!!! I did use sunflower lecithin instead of eggs and plenty of chopped walnuts in the mix which could be why the effects lasted so long, just a hunch tho.

Anyhow here's a few pics of the girls as of just a few minutes ago....

lookin good slopoke. im at 9 wks, ive started to flush, by greatly reducing Canna Coco nutrients to 4ml/gal, under 500ppm, will gradually make it plain ph'd water

i have a terrible time getting good pictures, never looks as good in picture

think my buds are shaping up decent, hoping they will fatten up some more. overall, if i had to chop them today, id be happy with my yield for a first grow. as they sit now it is almost, almost i say, more than im gona know what to do with for a good amount of time. AND i have 4 more autos two wks old in me veg box

speaking of yield, it would be most convenient to chop them just short of 10 weeks, have the week and weekend off. i think this me be earlier than ideal (most pistil lively white, maybe half cloudy trics, rare to find amber as of now) for at least some of the 5, but trying to cut and trim and hang, and monitier with work back in full force maybe be difficult, and i for sure want to be extra careful with the harvest/dry process

so would you wait? would fully matured buds be that much larger and more important to me, potent, at say 11 or 12 weeks?
.....well now that i typed that and read it, kinda a dumb question, of course they will, because they will be ripe, unlike earlier
but id appreciate an thoughts

i too tried some canna butter, made it according to http://dudegrows.com/make-potent-cannabis-oil-aka-canna-butter/
except i used fresh not cured
i dont know yet, im thinking i messed up somewhere, cause i ate some at 10, again at 11, and again at 12, and its almost 1, and i only feel a little funny, maybe try a larger amount to start tomorrow
