Day 5: Plants are looking healthy, and have started developing leaves.

Day 6: Maintaining a temp of 75-77 and humidity of 50-55% with the light on, and 68-72 with the light off. Seedlings shedded their seed casing.:dance2:

Day 7: Looks like the soil is dry on top, but the plastic pot is still heavy, and i can find moisture about an inch or two down. I still have not watered the seedlings since the initial pre-soak of the soil. I'm starting to think that because the pots are so large they may be retaining mositure longer than I anticipated.

Looking great! I wish I could get temps that low, but with this heat wave, my girls are having to sweat it out with temps near 90 degrees...

Luckily I had some time to expiriment while I was waiting for the seeds to arrive. In the room I have the tent set up in there is a digital thermostat. By running the light for a full 20 hour light cycle before I put anything in there I was able to find out that the tent will run 3-4 degrees warmer than the surrounding temp. So to keep my temps at the ideal 75 degrees, I would have to set the thermostat to about 72. The resulting issue is that this drasticly lowered the humidity (by about 8-10%). But I was still inside the desirable range of humidity, just now on the low end of the spectrum.

* And keep in mind moving air is cooler than standing air, so extra circulation would help.

** Also, I read about a trick where you can freeze a gallon of water, and put the container behind your fan, the air blowing out of the fan should be nice and cool.

I'm in an unfinished basement that isn't climate controlled, but it tends to stay about 10 degrees cooler than outside temps in the summer. Unfortunately with temps over 100 this week, that's still too high. Back when it was low 90s, I was able to keep the box in the mid-80s even with the lights on. I have an AC supply line right above my box, and I may be forced to temporarily disconnect it from the register upstairs to use as a cool air source for my plants. I knew it was a gamble trying a grow in mid-summer, so I can't complain too much.

pretty good idea about the frozen water behind the fan! It just may work for a small tent,
