Hey,

Ive just done my run off and it came out as 6.0. How do i get this to 6.5? I have bi carbonate of soda but I think its out of date so is that ok? Just need help on how to do this. I fed them with 6.5 ph'd water and collected the run off afterwards.

cheers and any advice will be appreciated!

Bicarb doesn't really go out of date Bro..it will be safe to use.

Put a little in at a time and stir well coz it is a bugger to dissolve...:stir:

Start with the tip of a teaspoon to 1Ltr/2 pints of water and see what it does to your run off...

Cheers dude. this is gonna be a pain. all the pots run off was 6.0. should i just use tap water that hasnt been ph,d with bi carb in it? Then use 6.5 water and see what comes out run off wise. The plants are only 6 days old ao ahould i wait for another week as the ph of the soil my.rise by then. btw i tipped the water down the side which hasnt had any yet where as the middle where the plant has. i just dont want to drown them.

6.0 isn't that bad .I think you should stick with plain ph water for another week or so then play with the ph.:2cents:

Ok cheers namvet. il start that tomoz. Then check the Ph run off next thursday and sunday. Plus how many days old should i wait for my plants to be before i start the grow nutes? cheers :)

If you have 6.5 in and 6.0 out then your soil is somewhere in between, say 6.2. Which isn't terrible, but you need to get it up to 6.5 for sure. What kind of soil is it?

That makes a difference on when you can start feeding nutes. If it doesn't have any nutes you can start around day 12-14, but if it has nutes it could be 3 weeks before you need anything. Next time feed with water at 6.6-6.7 and you should be dead on.

Since you're really just getting started on these I would suggest adding some dolomite lime to your soil. It will raise the pH and buffer it to help keep it stable.
