Grow Mediums Advice for new Earthbox/SIP (sub-irrigated planter) indoor grower?

Some good info scattered in this long thread - https://www.autoflower.org/threads/white-crack-sour-livers-sip-los-grow.74902/

I'm only about 1/2 way through it.

I'm wondering what you can/should put in the reservoir vs. foliar, or skip altogether. I typically use recharge/mammoth p and coconut water.
I don’t even need to open thread to know that’s MrOldBoy! He has a new name on here! @MrOldBoy u got your old name back or what? Seems like space cowboys gone now!

I've got some earthboxes but also an insert for 5 gallon buckets (grobucket).

What's the best thing to use to make my own 'mulch cover' for it? Just a black trash bag? Panda film? Something else?

Some stretchy ground cover, just tie a knot in the corners and stretch it over.

When is the best time to add worms? I'm planning on getting the boxes filled with soil and then leave them in the tent to warm up 24-48 hours before direct planting seeds.

I'm thinking add the soil and worms, let it sit in tent for a day or so, then plant seed and add grokashi, em-1 and straw layer.

You do know that flamethrower light requires 30 to 36 inches of headroom, right?

Yeah, I'm guessing I won't ever be running it at close to 100% in a 4x4.

A friend is going to bring his par meter over so I can figure out a height/dim level to start for veg.

It's an experiment for sure.

I've got two 120mm fans sitting on the driver blowing directly into my carbon filter and have been playing with dim levels and temp.

HLG SAYS that that thing I’ll throw 1700 plus at the center of the tent at 30 to 36 inches. Like I said. Flamethrower.
