Old Reviews Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect

Im using Sensi Bloom PH Perfect and it works as advertised with RO water but not so much with my 350+ ppm tap water.

Im running RO water now and my 5 gallon reservoir is always at 5.7-6.1 everytime I check it with my PH meter. I use it at half strength and I have no problems whatsoever. Its expensive but idiotproof. If you use RO water you dont have to bother with PH.

I add SM90 because I keep my reservoir sterile and Protekt silica to help with my growroom heat before mixing the Sensi Bloom.

The PH goes up to 7 when I add the addons first and PH goes right back to 5.7-6.1 when I add the Sensi to the mix. I dont bother to check with PH anymore. I have not encountered any problems with this setup.

Ok so I went through almost 15 pages of this thread and I'm unsure which to buy. This will be my second grow coming up and I would love to take the metering portion of the feed out the equation. I'm looking more so for easy and a lesser chance of running into problems more than anything. And if I get the G-M-B will I need both parts of the grow and both parts of the bloom? And those three are considered the base nutrients correct? Will I really need an additional supplement or will those suffice? And what's the difference between that line up and the sensi lineup when comparing skill level of the grower? Help please for my seeds are on their way :)

pH Perfect was designed for use with RO water. Unless the starting pH of your source water is below 8 and the starting ppm is between 100 - 125 the pH Perfect won't work. If your ppm is below 100 you can always add some cal/mag supplement to raise it to the proper level. If your water doesn't fit those criteria, then best to stay with the regular AN Canna nutes. Which ever you end up using, yes, you will need both the A and B parts. I would also suggest having some cal/mag supplement on hand as cal/mag deficiencies are quite common, even with the pH Perfect. Also a bud booster like Overdrive or something equivalent.

Ok so I suppose I have a few more questions and I should probably address these in a different thread but since I'm here I'll ask. Now these nutes will always make the ph of my solution perfect, but what about my soil ph, should I always test the runoff still? And I plan on using FFHF with 20% perlite, and 5 gallon smart pots, in order to test the ph of my soil prior to my girls going in, should I just run RO water through and do my calculations to see where it's at or are these nutes also adjusting my soil ph? I do have some cal/mag from botinacare still that I can use

The soil will have its own ph right out of the bag. I would recommend you get a Accurate 8 soil probe. I know most folks balk at spending another $60 bucks, but it is well worth it!!! It you get one, you dont have to mess around with runoff ever again!!! Plus you can get a starting ph right away.
1- Fill your pot with medium and water the medium with 6.3 water and wait a day, put the probe in and check PH. Now, here is the trick, as the medium dries, the ph goes up. (ph in is 6.2-6.3 and as it dries it goes up through the sweet spot of 6.5-6.6 and back down when you water again.)
Knowing your medium and sticking with it will get you familiar with its ph swings and how fast it dries. If your medium is 7 ph and you hit it with 6.3 water in, eventually your soil ph will drop in time, but not fast enough with autos. If you were growing photos, it wouldn't be an issue because they take longer.
I would still check your PH of your AN solution. I use the AN line and still check it every watering. You dont want to muck around with your grow going south because of laziness or human error!!!Here is a link for the soil probe, and I would get the Overdrive and Big Bud to help in the flowering phaze.

Happy growing mate!!

Wow awesome info man! That helps a lot! So since my seeds have just been shipped and I have roughly two weeks before they're ready to go in, should I get the pots ready now and get them at the appropriate ph so when they're ready it's in the perfect range? And what is the AN line ur using? I want to know which bottles to get exactly, not including the additives. Thanks man

Great

:grat::Aloha:Hop digity Wow , all you guys rock , I found this post just 3 hours ago , 4 am sunday morning , now you might not believe this but I ordered some AN product on thursday , then found this post and now have all the answers I need . this is a top site and a great bunch of blokes , shame the rest of the world was not like this .

you should be happy with the an nutes my friend. I use ph perfect grow micro bloom, nirvana, and rhino skin and gonna order more for flowering.

How to use 3part Grow/micro/bloom ? If my plants are in veg I need to add Bloom? Or if plants are in Bloom I need to add Grow ?

After doing a bunch of reading I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter what your ph is when you use an ph perfect. The stuff is so chelated your plants will get fed regardless. That's why it doesn't matter if you use the stuff in coco/dwc/soil. The ph differences don't matter.
