Photoperiod Ace Seeds - Malawi - Panama

Day 16. I have flipped the lights this morning, so tomorrow will be the first day after flip. All plants looking clean so far. I'm going to keep them in these pots as long as I dare, at least another week. I'll start the flower clock as soon as see the first pistils, I know some people count the flowering days straight after flip, but these sativas take a while to transition, so I'll count flowering days from when they show sex

I've been using overdrive from optic foliar on these babies, well 2 of them, and 2 are getting the BoomBoom spray treatment

Hmm , now you got me thinking . ----- I'll start the flower clock as soon as see the first pistils, I know some people count the flowering days straight after flip, but these sativas take a while to transition, so I'll count flowering days from when they show sex

My Golden Tiger was 3 weeks before she showed sex. From flip she was 16 weeks to finish, but advertised as 11-14 weeks flowering time, take away the 3 weeks transition period after flip, that makes her a 13 week finisher, right in the Ace Seeds estimations.

Looking good.
Yeah, they may take a few weeks to get mature enough to flower.
I think counting from first pistils is a good way to work on to estimated maturity.
In my experience, most photo plants need at least 3-4 weeks veg, even if 12/12 from seed.

Are they 1L pots? Why restrict them? You want to keep them small / manageable?

I think I've worked out what my La Buena Hierba mystery strain 2 is -- the Thai Gold Photo.
18 days inside, then outside, showed pistils at day 31 or so.
But, it's June, and another 2+ weeks later, I'm not sure if she's in flowering or veg!!!
Maybe continue to veg on for another few weeks, or months.

Haha, joke's on me. May have a sativa-Thai dominant photo plant outdoors for a few months in a 2 gal pot!

Either that, or she is flowering, but will just take a few weeks to stretch and build her bud structure.

Wish me the best to keep her going until the end!

yeah the idea is to keep them tame as much as possible, they will be bent over and trained, the breeder Dubi, says to re-pot 2 weeks into flower, and you'll still be struggling to keep them manageable. Golden Tiger I grew was treated really badly  kept in a 1 liter pot for far too long, and still produced a very giving harvest

Thats strange with the plant you have, are you sure it's a photo? Or has it gone into flower early through some sort of light deprivation?
What are your outdoor light hours?

Breeder's orders, sounds like the very best of advice then!
I always find it strange how different plants respond to different pot sizes.
Some plants get restricted a lot, some honestly don't give sh!t and just keep growing and growing.

Oh, yeah, long story.
Just posted about that yesterday, here.
In short, I am now very confident that this strain is the Photo Thai Gold (and not the Auto Jack Herer or Auto La Gasolina, I mixed the seeds up when I received the package.)
She was kept inside until day 18, then went outside, late June.
After 31 days, June 31, she just showed pistils, and her branching structure shown she was flower-forming.
But then she's been doing that for the last 17 days, not really many more pistils/calyxes.
So thinking about light cycles, she's now getting maybe 13.5 hrs.
She's said to take 8-9 weeks, and finish end of September.
Which around the Netherlands, would suggest she starts flowering end of July/start of Aug, when light is about 13.5 hrs/day.

So maybe she started flowering because she was getting less than 13.5, but now is getting more and is vegging a bit.
Kind of half way between veg and flower.
Hope she goes full flower soon, because if she vegs for 2+ months, plus another 2+ months flower, in a 2gal = 7 L pot...
I worry about her root space, nutrient and water requirements.
Here's another shot of her (half of her!) today:

I know... it's just a mass of green ...
