will try a few q's and fail.just giving my opinion on.
quaility in=quality out.
say that our imaginary bud weighs 10g.2g will be trichs 8g plant matter (contaminents/waste material) we smoke the whole shebang in rockets,so its fine and dandy.
keif=a mix of plant matter and trichomes....put a bud in a coffeee blender=100% keif,is it better or worse than the bud that went in the blender ? same.just fine dust now.2g hash 8g rubbish
hash=in theory more trichs than plant matter,but it dont allways work out that way.
a lot of old school dry sift peeps (bubbleman,john befolo,dk420,drysiftwizard) want 100% trichs.that is extremly hard and time consuming.but in doing so you can have 10 grades of inbetweens.the pros dont want the stalk of the trich either just the head.its proper connisseur levels with them.
im just an enthusiastic eejit with to many screens.im not sure i could tell the difference in a 73m to a 90m in a blind test.

I did a very similar thing using 100 mesh screen. I used 3 oz of trim I got 5 grams Kief then I took a bottle of iOS alcohol and soaked the now dekief ed trim for 7-8 min then streined the plant material and put that juice in an open container to evaporate (no heat) for 3-4 days when liquid evaporated down to last 1/2 in I heated and made oil. I discovered how hard oil is to handle so added 3 grams of Kief back in to the oil which made a nice goo like hash. A day later a friend came over and we tried it. He was impressed I sent him home glassy eyed and deep in thought. Get better milege from your herb, try this you' be surprised what u can get from low quality herb.

Hey AFN!

I spent most of today extracting kief and making some Sweet Cheese / Blueberry Hash. I used trim and bottom buds from my latest Sweet Cheese Auto grow and some DP AutoBlueberry I had left in the freezer..

I originaly only intended to post this in my grow journal bur saw that there were some topics asking for a simple way to make hash and i believe this to be the most simple way there is!

First off I collect all trim (bottom buds, and any small stuff i dont feel like smoking myself) and let it dry completely.

When its dry i put it into a plastic bag and set in the freezer for 48 hours.

Get your pantyhose out and, i use one of those rings used for baking sponge cakes, but anything like it will do. it makes control easier so you dont have trim all over yourself.. you'll get what i mean... and something to collect the kief in.

Thread the pantyhose onto what you choose to collect in. Mine fits perfectly but if you're using something smaller you can just tie the ends together to tighten the screen.

Take like a handfull or two of trim at a time and place within the ring n start drummin', rubbin' and workin' it against the screen. Theres no set period of time you should do this... but the longer the better!!

After a while you'll have something like this... However there is still a whole lot off plant material in this mix which we dont want..

pantyhose generally have tighter holes down the legs! So what we wanna do now is get a container and thread it through to around the "knee area"... should look something like this. . Now we have a much finer screen than before!!

Now use a spoon and put some of the materia on the new screen and care fso you dont spill any.. just use your spoon to move it around and drum gently.. eventually you'll be able to see that theres only plant stuff left and all the good stuff has fallen through. You loose over 90% off what you had before this step !

Should look something like this...

Gather it all up on some oven-paper

fold into something like a bag so you can gather it all on the bottom and pack it as much as you can

Fold it up...

I forget to take pics for the next steps but when you've gotten this.. turn the oven to 170C.. wrap newspaper around your package and tape it shut.. now soak it in water before placing it in the oven for 10 minutes. Take it out. Use a Rolling pin and apply as much force as you can and roll it against a hard surface for a few minutes, re-soak and repeat . Do this 2-3 times and then place the package in the fridge to cool off.

Now you should have a nice piece of Hash!

i got a really nice piece this run!! 15.3g!

Smooth smoke which completely knocked me out!

Kudos to Chill Fred - Followed the recipe with one exception - instead of using panty hose, I used a double mesh screen - ended up with a nice, smokable plate! Gonna do it again and SOON!

Nope, real hash is made with pressure only.

It's done with only resin glands that are all between 66 and 73 microns in size. Then it is pressed under tons of pressure to rupture those resin glands.

Actually with screen sizes anymore it's between 66 and 75 microns in size but don't tell any old time purist that unless you want a lecture...

Anyway, to make a quick and simple black tar hash by hand start with your purist kief (no plant matter or you end up with what we called camel shit hash in the 60's)

OK... put about a 2 - 3 gram pile of your cleanest kief on the counter top then take a pinch and squeeze and rub it between your thumb and index finger until you end up with what look like a few little dark boogers.

Those are used as a starter as the bigger your blob of hash is the easier it is to add to it in size.

Place those little boogers in the center of your other palm.

Take your sticky thumb and push it down into your kief pile which will pick up more kief.

Push and twist your kief covered thumb into the center of your other palm that contains the little boogers that you started with and keep pushing and twisting until you have a bigger booger looking blob in your palm.

Then take your sticky thumb and push it into your kief pile and do it all again. Keep doing that until you have built up a marble size blob of pliable black tar looking stuff in your other palm.

The bigger the blob gets the faster this goes....

Anyway, then pull off a piece and flatten it out a bit and smoke it and tell me what you think.

Oh, and you can use the blob to clean off your sticky thumb and index finger

It sounds pretty stupid typing it out, but because of a combination of friction, body heat, and pressure this will give you the closest thing you can get to real pressed hash.

It ruptures the resin glands just like real pressed hash, just on a much smaller scale and without any equipment.

I believe this type of hash is called Chocolate in Morocco (My bf is Moroccan and yes I have gotten to smoke the good Moroccan Hash!!)

Also, I was looking at the method and thinking why the bud/trim wasn’t put into the stocking with the tray around it, tightened over the top of the bowl and beat this way? That way you could “shake up” the material inside?

I know you’re post was sometime back but the hash I make is very similar.
Basically I just use a 160 µm screen brewers bag & Shaken over a table with parchment paper spread out makes it very easy to scrape up.
I will only shake for a minute or so and scrape up what I have, then repeat the process again. This way I have different piles of different quality —using a magnifying glass when I start to see green plant matter specs then I know I’m done.
(I use completely dried herb sugar leaves & bud dried in a brown paper bag (Material is slow dried for five days then put in bag for one month and hand broken up but not powderized).
After I have about 15 gr or so,
I then pull my pancake maker skillet out & heat to 135f.
Remove it from direct heat with a piece of parchment paper on top of the skillet and place my kief on the paper then another piece of parchment paper put over that. Then I place a piece of quarter inch square steel on top. Let rest for three minutes or so.
Remove the steel and I use a large wooden rolling pin to basically roll out the hash flipping the parchment paper several times. (yes a wine bottle with heated water would work fine to).
Now let it cool in the refrigerator for five minutes and roll the hash up into a log... put back in parchment paper roll it out and then start the beginning process all over again with the heat ...Then repeat the previous process all over again. You can vary the colors you get from this process by the number of times you repeat —from a blondish brown to brown or deep brown black.
I then roll it up again into a log roll it tight in parchment paper place into jar (I open the jar every couple days for 10 minutes the first two or three weeks then leave closed & cure for the next six months or so). I have some now that is one and a half years old and the smell is very nice...No doubt after 7-8-9 months for some reason it just gets a beautiful fragrance perfumey sweet wonderful smell).
For all my trim like the large fan leaves and so forth & left over material from making the better hash I use a 200 µm Brewer’s bag for a lower quality hash or I simply extract using ethanol & 5-7 lbs dry ice in separate jars & into
a cooler till temp reaches
@ -60f, then mix for 15 min still in cooler & strain & evaporate, I evaporate naturally in a large Pyrex dish with cheese cloth over it takes almost 2 weeks... “absolutely positively make sure once mixed that it stays at least at MINUS -50° until you have separated the saturated ethanol from the plant material”...(talk about true hash oil the stuff is great, Put into a
C Cell cartridge with absolutely nothing else in it and it vapes perfect—no peg, pg, mct not even terps...nothing!)
