Killed the poison dwarf male and 1 cobra male to make room for some new pineapple express autos for the 32 oz. grow comp. Kept 1 male cobra to pollinate the female cobra. The cobras are lookin nice except a little on the small side still for just over 3 weeks but the females showin pistils and the male has ALOT of balls.Gettin a little smell to them now but not to bad. My new pineapples have been germed in a water bath where 4 outta 5 cracked and put them under jiffy seed starter mix yesterday-1 popped dirt today! Hoping the other 3 follow suit.My lone seed that didn't crack is in a wet cloth between 2 plates on the top of my stove where the pilot lights keep it just warm enuf.Thinking its a dud as its a little on the black side on the edges but who knows, givin it a few days to see. Mixed up a batch of FD's soil 1/10 scale to see how its works and didn't do so well-the ph was thru the floor at 3.5-4 and thats after adding a few tablespoons of lime to it. Think i'm goin to stay with ffof for the new pineapples.

It takes a while for the lime to kick in. Put some in small container and wet it down with pHed water. Let it sit for 3-4 days, then check the pH again.

Thanks Muddy, will give it a few days and try it again. This morning noticed my other 3 pineapples popped above dirt, that makes 4 outta 5 seeds that made it.Not holding out much hope for the last one, still no signs its doing anything in the wet cloth.I gave the edges a light scrape yesterday and put it back in its wet cloth between 2 plates and no signs of cracking yet. Thats ok as between the 4 pineapples and 2 cobras its gonna be a tad crowded under the lights. Thinkin i may build a diy rubbermaid light chamber to accomodate 2 plants.

Update on my cobra adventure day 25,gave the 2 cobras a water with growbig and tigerbloom mixed per Fd's 3.5 week schedule of feeding. The female is only 4" tall and the male is 5" but are bushy little buggers and they do have some odor going on.The female is in the preflower mode with a nice little crown of preflowers with a few popping out on side branches. The male is loaded with balls of all sizes and has a top that has to have at least 20 of them on it. They both appear healthy and happy and perfect green color just wish they would get taller-do they stop vertical growth when they go into the preflower mode? Actually they do seem to get a little bigger every day. Added 4 pineapple express auto seedlings to the growcloset today-3 in party cups with jiffy seedstarter mix/ffof soil,1 is in my 32oz. wonton soup container for the comp,2 days old now. Thinkin its going to get crowded in there as i'm only workin with 3'x3'x6'. Did manage to get my rubbermaid growbox built yesterday out of 2 35 gallon totes and 6 23w soft white cfls. After an intial test to check temps i've found the 120mm computer fan ain't gonna cut it as temps in the lower half hit 90f.Thinkin i may go with a 4" or 6" inline duct fan for furnace venting and see what that does-the computer fan is only pushing 42 cfms where the 4" duct fan is 88cfm.May open my passive intake from 2" to 4" to increase airflow as well.Going to run a short exhaust pipe from the rubbermaid growbox to a 5 gal. ona bucket for odor control if it gets off the ground.Would make a good home for the 2 cobras and leave the 4 pineapples in my growcloset.Thats all for today folks!

Vertical growth will continue into week 5-6, then it will start to slow and finally stop. From weeks 4 to 6 expect to see rapid vertical growth, as much as an inch or more a day. Continue feeling veg nutes until you see the vertical growth slow and stop.

Thanks Muddy! Still early in the game yet and i'm a little impatient.Actually wouldn't care if they stopped gettin taller i'm takin them to the end regardless just to get a complete grow under me.I've usually killed them by now in my past attempts-just happy to see preflowers LOL-how desperate does that sound lol?

No worried mate, we'll see you through.

Not much happening today other then the cobra male is reaching for the lights and noticed one of the balls has opened and looks like a bunch of bananas hanging there. How long before i need to worry about pollen? I'm trying to get my rubbermaid growbox temps under control and then plan to put the cobra male and female in there for some breeding.Would rather keep them seperate from my 4 new pineapple express auto seedlins.Just cut a bigger 4" passive intake hole in the rubbermaid and put a 6" duct fan on top with 250cfm-hoping that gets my temps down in the mid 70f's.

If the balls are opening and you're starting to see the male flowers, then it's time to move them. As soon as those flowers open they start to drop pollen. You might move it to a window sill for the time being. It will be fine for a few days.

Thanks once again Muddy, your help is much appreciated. Got my rubbermaid growcab temps under control by adding a 5" passive intake hole, with the 6" duct fan exhaust my temps dropped to 74f with 6 26w soft white cfls.Going to hook my exhaust line into the ona bucket tomorow and send the cobra male into quarantine in the rubbermaid and collect some pollen for the female cobra.Lol i'd like to move it to a windowsill,it would have saved me $120 i spent on building the rubbermaid growbox for breeding.Unfortunately i get alot of surprise visits from friends, some of whom wear badges, and don't want to push my luck any further then i have.Thank god for my scrubber in the growcloset!
