Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

Me a Ronin do entirely too many dabs and blunts, I forgot about that but now I remember. I did run the safari mix and plan to again, but I didn't finish because of space and breeding projects. safari mix is northern Indian and crosses of Northern Indian. My early Skunk was from the Mr. Nice walkabout pack which is another good mix pack to pick up if you are looking for a mix of pure strains.
I ran those along side the Safari kept mixing them up with the Safari mix when growing.

Hey there @Magic lovely to "see" you here.
Honored to have some serious breeders visit my grow!
:worship:

I'm already seeing a range of phenos in the Safari mix, from fatter indica to narrower sativa leave morphology,
to more or less branching, and now obviously some difference responses to the same soil and feeding / watering schedule.
But, that's what I need, a genetic range to find what will work here.

Ace Seeds have some nice similar mixes, including those breeder packs from their landrace and IBL cultivars.
I'll also check out the Mr Nice range again, which I've seen earlier online.
I have a nice connection with Northern India though, including Nepal Bhutan and these areas that Mandala uses.

My big prob for photos would be: the climate is sub-tropical, max light hrs 13.5/10.5.
But........ massive tropical storms around July-Sept or even to Oct. So hard to use regular grow season.
And I really don't think that some sativa that can bend in the wind will help.
These storms can strip almost every single leaf from the native trees and plants already.
They will just destroy even the toughest grow, and would hit just at the start of flowering.

So........ I'm planting out now, growing through spring and hope to harvest by early summer.

This grow thread is all autos. My Mandalas and Top Tao have their own thread(s).

Day 23 - Mandala Safari Mix

Checked on them in the morning sun. Another day of full sunshine or just a little cloud. It's been fairly dry as a result.
So, they each got about 0.5L of 1/4 strength CaliMagic and Sensi Bloom A+B.
I'm not sure if this is best for the first two on the East Wing (see below). They may like it really dry..... still watching....

You can see a little purple in the center of pic 2. Have had a couple of cool nights with the sunny days.

Lovely very happy!

Little Miss Early Top Tao. Just for fun!

These two are both doing okay, but are not perfect.
I was thinking it's too much water, with the droop and a little yellowing of the leaves.
But, it's been quite dry out, and the soil is dry, too. Wonder if it's the coco and pH?
But it's mainly just the lower leaves. The tops are fine and growing okay, branching too.
I couldn't help myself, and watered them, too. Hope I don't regret it.

Little Miss Early Top Tao. Can see some seeds forming there, too.
Daddy is her brother, the Purple Boy (below).

This one looks very nice and strong.

Day 28 (Outside Day 7) - Mandala Safari Mix

The Mandala Safari plants have been outside for a full week now.
No signs of sex yet, but they are doing well on the whole.
They are up to about 18cm-23cm = 7"-9" tall.
The color is fairly light, when compared to the Early Top Tao.
But no signs of deficiencies or anything.
Almost totally untouched by any bugs!! This is a good sign.

The one (maybe two) plant(s) which seemed over-watered are now doing well,
just a bit of yellowing down low. Though the leave shape in general is a bit different.

I mixed up some CaliMagic and AN Sensi Bloom Coco A+B at 1/4 strength for them.
Each plant got 0.5L = 1/6gal or so.
Except the one who showed sensitivity to over watering.
I still her some water, just not as much.

Enough of the chat, where are the pics? you're asking........
(including the Early Top Tao two ladies).

This one is doing very nicely! She's about 23cm = 9" tall. So grown about 10cm = 4" in the last week!

This one is also doing just great. Similar height and size to the one above, about 23cm = 9" tall.

The taller skinnier Early Top Tao lady. She's about 40cm+ = 16"+ tall. Just a single skinny cola on top.

This plant was the one sensitive to over watering. About 18cm = 7" tall.
As you can see, she's a little yellow down below, but just fine up top now.
Though her leaf morphology is different to the others.
Not sure if this is also due to too much water, her just her strain genetics.
She has the best branching though, as you can see down below.
I will def be able to take some clone cuts from her in maybe another week.
Hopefully she's a "she", so I can have some female clones.

This one also a little sensitive to over watering, but not as much as the one above.
She stands about 20cm = 8" tall. Looking good!

20170409 Mandala Safari + Early Top Tao (12).jpg

This is the strongest looking one on the East Wing. More the indica pheno. About 23cm = 9" tall.
Looks a lot more like the two over on the West Wing. They are very similar, maybe from same hybrid genetic cross.

The East Wing Early Top Tao lady. Shorter than her West Wing sister, and more stocky / solid.
Her fragrance is nice at this point, and a bit of crystal starting to form.

She's now very pregnant, as I pollinated her again today. The Purple Boy is running out of energy now.
I won't breed with this seeds, as this kind of plant is quite an unknown to me.
Esp the early flowering like an auto, even though supposed to be a photo.
But still, maybe get a couple of grams of nice seedy bud out of her.

Some nice weather again today, then maybe some showers and a bit of rain for next week.
Hope the water sensitive two are okay. Let's see.

Hoping for sexing by the end of next week!!!
Then we'll see what ladies we have, and what males we have for possible pollination!!

There's been a bit of rain starting today, going through a couple of days according to weather forecast.
Nice amount, not too heavy. And it's been pretty dry lately, so I think they'll be just fine.
Let's see about the one (maybe two) water sensitive plants, though....

So, last night I gave them a little feed of 3/4 strength CaliMagic and AN Sensi Bloom Coco A+B.
They've been fine with 1/4 strength, no burn at all. In fact, rather light green, could definitely go more.
My thinking is 3/4 strength just before the rains, which will wash it down and dilute it.
The challenge of feeding outdoor guerilla grows -- balancing human feeding/watering with mother nature's plans.

A couple of them are up to about 28cm = 11", smallest up to 23cm = 9".
Figures to about 5cm = 2" in two days for most of them! Nice!!!! They've done well under the sun.

As I went to the site, I discovered some human activity: hmmmmm................ was a bit worried this would happen.
The groundsmen / gardeners here have been working a couple of the raised beds closest to the road.
Just weeding and pulling out some old veges they planted there a long time back.
Maybe they are going to clean them out and prep them for a spring plant of veges or something.
The "West Wing" is on the far outer edge of this area, but so over run with local weeds that I'm hoping they'll leave it.
The "East Wing" is in a different area, and I'm not sure they'll work over the entire site or not.
The other three holes I put down (should call them "North Wing") are some distance away, about 50m = 50yds.

I'm not worried about them "discovering" the ganja. Past experience suggests they don't know what it is!!
But, more that they will just weed everything out. I figure they'll leave the outer edge of the West and not touch the East at all.

Fingers crossed!!!!!

Have mine crossed as well for you.
Your babies are growing and looking great. And as for the yellow leaves they wont get back to normal but The new growth is green and healthy so no worries.

Yeah, they are doing just fine.

Some more rain last night and this morning, maybe 10mm = 1/2" or so.
Still cloudy outside now, but a bit of light coming through.
More rain and showers later and for the next couple of days.
Hope to check on them at some time, maybe ... Thursday / Friday.
Will include photo updates!
