DIY 6' x 3.5' closet conversion/exhaust ideas please

I thought if this too. This will be a flower room, I'm thinking fans will blow any cloth all over the place. Plus, I'd kinda like to keep better reflection.
Black out cloth is white and heavy. You need min 50sq in intake. So 12"*6" would be fine for some breathing room. Bigger for passive vents is better.

I thought about buying a cheap door but the dimensions aren't normal so, will be pricey. I'll replace later.

Six panel door, that’s solid wood bro, slice one-half inch from bottom and you’ll see increase air-flow into closet ..... slice 3/4 or 1 inch and it will increase proportionally..... low down near floor is BEST air you can bring in, coolest air ......

You don’t need to be a carpenter to setup straight line to cut ..... just use sharp finish blade and have some sandpaper and maybe touch up paint ....

Tent inside closet will not solve problem - you still need input air, which you could simply leave door open or remove door and do the cloth / Velcro thing!

just take the door off.double or triple layer some of that black/white stuff,a velcro/sticky back zipper
:pighug:

I think I'm leaning towards modifying the door, because it's already there.

I like the cloth idea and I looked into what, I think, you're talking about. I'm seeing myself trying to get plants in and out, losing my shit and tearing it down. I tend to do things like that.

12" x 6"...ok so, I could cut a hole in the door for passive intake and exhaust into tent.

Ok, I know many people would rather have air coming in, through the bottom. What if I am exhausting at the bottom, to feed the 8" port in the tent. My choices are 6" up top or 8" on bottom. I have an 8" fan so, I'm liking the latter. Plus, winter is coming in New England and I dont need any more cool air. I have a ceramic heater, heating the whole room, as it is, and winters not even here yet! That being said, wouldn't it make more sense to shave the top of the door?

I really appreciate all your help peeps!

Intake should be at bottom - outflow should be at top - law of physics- heat rises ...... as for New England cold air, when u suck air thru bottom of door you’ll be sucking coldest into grow area - and exhausting hot air from top of tent/room ..... air drawn into grow area which will be replaced by air coming in from another area or opening outside grow room ..... you want the coldest air inflow as you are trying to maintain X degrees in room and mixing in hot air from top of the door and exhausting down will work against itself ....

Fan is too large for area, by the way - 4” inline fan more than enough for closet size ...... how much / what kinda light inside closet?

I totally understand your point in intake/exhaust positioning BUT I dont want cooler air coming in, trust me. I am heating the room with a ceramic heater, because, otherwise it is too cool. I have no worries whatsoever about heat. Quite contrary, I want MORE heat. I think my situation merits doing things backwards, pulling heat from top, pulling down, over plants and exhausting in the tent, which could also use some warm air coming in. The cost of elec. is insane here and anything I can do to keep that little 1500w heater from kicking on, is in my best interest.

A 8" to 4" duct reducer should work, so I dont have to buy another fan, right? I dont see why not.

The lights. Well, this is another expense and I'm scraping change to make happen. I'll be seeing BigSm0 for Autocobs. I currently have a 320w (true) cob unit & 5 Autocobs, in the 8x4. The reason I need this done is, I have 3 plants that didn't auto. I am juggling them from tent to closet for 12/12 and it sucks! And it's starting to get dank without a carbon filter, which I have in the 8x4.

My plan
Get this closet up and running. Order 3 autocobs and steal 2 from the tent, when needed. Use the closet for 3 autos I have, leaving the 3 big photos in the 8x4 with the 320w and 3 autocobs and flipping tent to 12/12.

Thanks again!
