A friend who is into his concentrates somehow convinced me, a strictly flower only guy, to go halves with him on this press.
I also have to keep it at my house since he has small kids and his wife is not so keen on the idea.
Guess I have to press for him as a pay-off! LOL!

So I set it up in the basement and it is way smaller than I imagined it would be!
Very nicely assembled and quality anodizing and nice fitment to all the parts. Works very smoothly and instantly releases the pressure to drop the plate.
Nice and compact with a small footprint. Easy to move around as well.

For my 1st press I just used some bud I had bought a while ago, nice and potent stuff.
Pack-A-Punch Purps is the strain and I used maybe 3 grams. I just compressed a bit into a small ball.

Ended up with this

Not bad for my first ever press! 2 small inclusions that I can live with at this point!
There were about 10 grain of rice size dabs from that small bud. Lost a bit to blowout due to too much pressure and a bit bled out of the parchment onto the plates.
A quick wipe cleaned them up to spotless again.

Basically my first time with rosin as well!
This shit is strong!! And different to flower. Different high totally.

Cannot wait for my grow to finish flowering and curing so I can start squishing my own bud!
This could get addictive with growing your own herb!

Oh addictive is an understatement. Rosin is the closest I have ever gotten to tasting what the plant smells like while it’s growing

Another quick filter-less test.
Turned the temp down to 185 on the 6 ton DabPress this time.
Pressed a quick round puck using about 3 grams of bud, I used Death Butter this time.

Closed the plates till the puck was just touched by the plates and allowed the puck to heat up for 30 seconds.
Press to close plates slowly and steadily, waiting a bit between each press for the oil to settle.
Stopped when it felt right, a bit less that the last time where i split the parchment.
Left it for 2 minutes and then released the pressure and removed the treasure!

Pick up was easy and I used a cold soda can to remove the final blob of rosin.
Transferred to a bit of parchment and pressed to a disc shape.
Had a few more inclusions this time around but still not too concerned with them on press #2.

Nice and heavy effect right behind the eyes and body numbing properties that slow everything down.
Taste is amazing on the Errlectric Concentration Station with the quartz insert.
It leaves this buttery taste and feeling on your tongue, very different.

I need to buy some small glass concentrate containers for storing the rosin in.
Any tips for a Canadian source?

What else can I do with Rosin?
I see some people leave it in the fridge, some heat and whip it all to further cure the rosin.
It is not cured from the bud already?
What would change apart from perhaps it's physical properties?
Surely the chemical properties would stay the same?
Would be great to know and I will do some research!

Here are the pics from tonight!

Lookin good!

Excuse my ignorance here, but don't buds need to be thoroughly dried before being pressed, particularly if using a vaporizer? Or is this for oral/food consumption, in which case should't the buds be decarboxylated first?

After 3 days in normal drying conditions it’s ready to press. It won’t taste like chlorophyll or hay it will taste like good rosin should.
