well it's a gorgeous 79 degrees with 55% humidity and sunny closet grow land, and the beans are in the ground. i had 100% of the seeds crack open (as usual! :D ) so hopefully germination rates will be there too.

lever, the breeder is Reserva Privada.

edit: actually, after temps leveled out, it's 81 and ~45% humidity. i probably should have tested my ventilation system before today, but i was pretty confident, and it did in fact work out swimmingly!

quick story about how my closet is set up:
I rent an apartment, and it has 2 closets set up right next to each other, separated only by a single sheet of drywall. i had originally mounted a plain old a/c fan on the wall, but it resonated SO LOUDLY you could probably hear it outside. and keep in mind this is my bedroom hehe. so anyway, i ended up using silicone to mount the fan on a cardboard box (stop laughing, i didn't want to spend money) with foam rubber inside to further absorb vibration and duct tape to seal it up, and then silicone'd that to the drywall (with a hole cut in the drywall to vent into the adjacent closet). For incoming air, i just cut a hole towards the floor to allow cooler air to come in (there is a shelf that separates the top of the closet from the bottom and serves to keep the hot air up top, and the cooler air on the bottom. i'll get you guys some pictures when i'm a bit more motivated (maybe tomorrow?). but for now, everything works, and i couldn't be happier. can't wait to see my babies pop their heads up! maybe tomorrow!? damn, i'm giddy! :jump:

oh yeah, and i set my lights to turn off from 1pm to 5pm for 2 reasons: 1) electricity costs the most between 12noon and 7pm and 2) they make me oxygen while i sleep instead of eating it up! maybe i'll sleep better?

Whatsgoodie, you're 100% right... I'm embarrassed, but thanks for pointing that out.

Kudo, sounds like you're a day or 2 ahead of me with your mi5. Do you have a grow journal for your current grow?

Just admit it - you were enjoying that good sh*t! :D

Haha I wish that were the case...I wanted to prove to myself I could go a while without bud, so it's been a few weeks now (first few days were tough). Though I'm going to pick up this weekend so I can entertain myself while I wait for this grow since this summer's outdoor got washed away in hurricanes. Time for a trip to Queens!

i have 7 Mi5 heads out of the ground as of this evening. temps were a little higher than i'd like (88 was the high today) so i'm going to pick up another fan tomorrow along with a pH kit (water is perfect at 6.8, but with ferts i'm sure it will go out of whack), diy carbon filter equipment, and an airrock for my pump to oxygenate the water before watering my babies. anyway, i swear i'll get to posting some pictures soon, i've just been busy with work, friends coming by, and being sick... i'm sorry, i hate pictureless threads too :(

well i went out and spent a few hundred bucks on fans, diy filter pieces, buckets, air pumps/stone, and ferts. i still can't get my temps below 85, but i'm gonna attribute that to the 82 degree weather we're experiencing right now. the fan is loud as a mother though! i'm going to need to make some kind of a muffler for it. it's not the fan itself, so much as the rushing noise the wind makes. the flexible ducts don't make the best mufflers either. so probably some time during this week i will pick up some insulation and such.

the air pump and air stone was for the water i use to water my babies with, i bought a 20 gallon tub which is bubbling constantly in the dark to prevent algal growth (hopefully). gonna use that to mix my ferts once it's time to start that.

but i did have a question. all my seeds have popped, but 2 (1 Mi5 and the OG Kush) still have the seed husk stuck on them. in the past, i've always removed them myself with a knife and tweezers, but i was wondering if that's necessary. will they shed them on their own, or could this potentially kill them? i always was sh*tting bricks when doing the "surgery" in the past, so if i could avoid having to do this stress inducing procedure, it'd make me happy.

moring bro iv had this with seeds and so far lost 2 i use a bit of sand paper give them a litte rub out then in water for 24 hours,im still waiting on my other Mi5 to pop out of me soil any time now :D,:peace:
