Day 4 Update.
The usual Hydroton/DWC starting issue has reared it's head, so for the last 3 days I have been gradually adding pH Down.
The pH now seems to have settled at 5.8 - if you can call 4 hours without changing 'settled' :haha:
Air and water temps, along with Humidity are remaining relatively consistent.
The seedlings have been a bit 'stretchy', so I dropped the light a few inches to try and reduce this a touch.

Day 9 Update:
Everything was going fine until my pH pen decided to shit the bed yesterday.
I just ordered myself a Bluelab Growers' Toolbox, but unfortunately it won't arrive until Friday/Monday :(
Fortunately, I have some pH strips, so that should be able to get me ballpark enough for the week.

A bit late with this update, but here goes:
DAY 17
The Bluelab pH and EC pens arrived and it turns out that both my pH AND my ppm readings from my old pens were WAY out of whack :face:
my ppm reading was over 200ppm too LOW and my pH was 6.5 instead of 5.8.
After testing the ppm meter 5 times (separated by 10 minutes each check) in the EC Calibration fluid from bluelab, not only was I reading too low, but it had a MASSIVE variation in it's readings.
Combined with the pH readings being way off, this meant I was basically pissing into the wind when checking pH and ppm in order to vary the nutrient strength.
All 4 of my plants were too dark, leaf curl and drooping. :crying:
I am guessing it was due to both too high pH and over feeding due to my ppm readings being too low and erratic. :haha:

In order to try and sort the issue, the water was emptied out and replaced with a fresh reservoir at the correct pH/ppm

DAY 20 UPDATE

After a few days of adding pH'ed water to the res, I think I have got the feeding amount sorted (mostly). The pH and ppm are now staying constant, meaning that they are consuming nutrients at the same rate as consuming water
All 4 plants look happier now, but the 4AM and CBD both have a little way to go.
I will add more pH'ed water this evening to reduce the nutrient concentration a touch more to try and sort those 2 out.
At this point, it seems obvious that I will have to find a middle ground between the 2 happy ones and the 2 overfed ones.

DARK DEVIL - looks MUCH happier now, but could still possibly use a slight drop in nutrients

4 ASSED MONKEY - still looking unhappy
Grow0252.JPG

NORTHERN LIGHTS - MUCH better looking. Still looks pale compared to the others, but that is due to Variegation marking the leaves
Grow0254.JPG

CBD AUTO - still not quite there with regards to the leaf curl, but a definite improvement

DAY 30 UPDATE:
Been a while since my last update and 'things' have been happening...
At around day 24, I decided to take the 4AM out and put it in its own res of pH'ed water for a day as it was still suffering from leaf droop and Nitrogen toxicity.
Whilst doing so, I covered its usual container - can't disconnect it as it's an RDWC linked system.
Unfortunately for me, the cover I used had almost zero weight (cardboard is nice like that), so the water hose feeding the re-circulation FELL OUT OF THE POT.
Needless to say, an hour later I went upstairs to find about 40 Litres of water ALL OVER THE PLACE :redcard:
As my tent is in an upstairs bedroom with a carpeted floor, much panic ensued...

Eventually all was cleared up, though I may need to repaint my kitchen ceiling now due to the nice brown stain - and humidity went through the roof for the next week as the carpet dried out.
Time to get me one of those wet/dry vacuum cleaners I think.

Now that all that is sorted out, back to the plants:
The 4AM and (to a lesser extent) the Dinamed CBD Auto are still showing some N tox, so feed has been reduced AGAIN.
The 4AM was also suffering from Cal/Mag issues, so the Remo Magnifical has been bumped up to cover this. It is also very small compared to the rest of the ladies, so it looks like the overfeeding caused a stunt in growth (although, hopefully it is just a 'slowing down' rather than stunting.)
The ppm of the reservoir is now at 500 from 210ppm tap water base, Magnifical and Megacrop.
The ppm has been dropping 20 or so per day for the last 4 days and the 4AM & Dinamed Auto look much healthier as a result. :yay:
pH is a consistent 5.9/6.0
I will keep it running at this point of 20-ish ppm drop per day for the remainder of the grow as it seems to be the area where all plants are happiest - or not too upset, whichever way you want to look at it :D
The Northern Lights might suffer with the reduced Nutrient levels, but the new growth does not seem to be too light in colour :vibe:
