First time grower in the PNW. Growing due wife having spasticity problems and hard to keep specific strains in stock since stores cycle product so quickly. Not to mention edibles seem to change weekly. We've learned howw to do a decent cannabutter so we can always have specific edibles on hand as she is also allergic quite severely to gluten (long term un-diagnosed gut problem led to the spasticity issues). No one sells GF edibles that are any good but we're good bakers and plan to stock up a lot of cannabutter specifically for this reason now.

Long term goal is to make sure we have a constant supply /stock of materials we know are grown pesticide free, and edibles that are gluten free so that life isn't as crippling as it has been in the last few years. We moved to the PNW from the "dirty south" so getting access to this has really been life changing in the most literal of ways. (her spasticity med is $ 330 WITH insurance - with certain weed strains, she only needs one of those pills, every 1-2 weeks, instead of every single day)

Enclosure is a 5'x5'x8' Secret Jardin tent.
Lights - 2 x 320w XL HLG
8" exhaust fan + 8" carbon filter with double sleeve
5 gallon fabric pots raised off of 16" saucers for run off (small 5 gallon bucket topper wetvac for clearing runoff)
Nutrients are Canna A and Canna B and calmag on hand as well.

I started of with a cdlc , skywawlker, nch, MS to germ but the skywawlker developed something(white ooze coming out of seed) due to overwatering I think and the first CDLC failed to grow after the initial taproot. The MS and NCH more or less took off even through flooded conditions. I germed a CDLC and dgx3bog shortly after discovering the skywalker problem. The CDLC just sprouted last night and it looks like the dgx3bog is trying to poke through now.

Below are the first pictures.

Midday water, 1 quart to each pot, in a ring as suggested in one of the guidance threads I posted. then about 10-15% runoff occurs over the span of 2 minutes. Still waiting for the dg x 3bog to pop. The seed pushed to the top of the soil over a day ago but it hasn't developed since then. Going to give it another week I suppose and see what happens.

The others seems to be cruising along though. the MS and NCH are nearly doubling size every 24 hours at this point. Hopefully the CDLC takes to it as well.

The light really seems to wash out the photo of the NCH but the mango smile pic looks virtually the same as real life.

Awesome I hope so! This 4th seed is just having a helluva time doing it's thing. It's pushed the seed head out a bit more today and you can see more green trying to come out of it, but the cdlc was germed at the same time and is going to have a week head start i think by the time the dgx3bog pops out.. the other two.. theyll have had a 2 weeks headstart haha.

Im looking on the bright-side though that I will be able to likely stagger the harvests and reduce trim time in the end, as far as how much time has to be devoted at once.

Im hoping I can grab some of his canna-cheese next time it drops but itll be tough im sure

If the seed “helmet” is having a hard time coming off you can “help” it with a pair of teeezers and an xacto knife or razor. Just be very gentle and kinda peel it off

I’ve had to do that with the CDLC already, and it seems to be doing ok once it shed that helmet. I found that tip here on the forums.

this dg3bog is weird. I should have taken a picture when I was looking at it. Basically it looks like it grew a root in to a circle and went right back in to the seed. Basically it looked like a ring with a 2-3”hole you could slide your fingers through.

I did the trick you’re suggesting and tried to gently loosen it but it wasn’t having it. I went ahead and took it out of the jiffy pellets and directly placed it in to the coco. Either it’s coincidence in timing or it prefers the coco more but we can see green starting to bow up. It was under coco last night and that’s what it looks like tonight. I’m hopeful in the morning we will have a 4th sprout.

Here’s a pic of it trying to do its thing tonight.

Yeah it looks like it’s breaking out now, you should have another baby in the morning

You gotta like it better in the PNW over the dirty south. I grew up just north of the border in Richmond, BC on Lulu Island. The freakin' rain can get a bit depressing but everything is so clean and green it just picks you right back up again when the sun comes out! :)

I've seen 15ft pot trees growing around the old place near the border. Worked at a couple of pot farms back in the day too.

I used to run across the border a couple times a week for cheap milk, cheese and gas then smuggle up a couple cartons of Camels and some hi-test booze. Declare the dairy and be let thru but times have changed. Now I'm in northern Alberta and unlikely to go south any time soon. Never had a passport and damned if I'd get one to go to Trump Town. ;)

I've been growing my own for 40 years with the last 20 mainly medical. The last few years is strictly medical and to make RSO for my wife's liver tumours. Lots of hi-CBD stuff for my arthritis too.

Good luck and good growing!

:peace:
