4" or 6" ventilation 2.5x4.5ft clsoet

I agree with the 6" I originally bought a 4" with my 3x3. I ended up getting a 6" a couple months later. The extra CFM is available if needed, if not you can turn it down. As they say, better to have and and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

6", 4" is pretty useless. plus it pulls through the carbon filter better and is almost noiseless at a lower speed. I own 4 and six and would not buy a four again.

I like the AC Infinity products a lot. But, I have found their carbon filters to be lacking in odor control. Fit and finish is fantastic and so is the price. I had to build large bucket filters with carbon pellets to mask the exhaust air. I have a special need for top level stealth. Your situation may be different.

How did you build those bucket filters?

I use the terra bloom filters, I have an 8 inch to 6 inch adapter and use an 8 inch filter which has a lot more filtering compacity on a 6 inch fan.

6inch will pull same cfm at half the noise of a 4inch being at 100% while 6inch can do it at 50%.

How did you build those bucket filters?

I found a few pics on another forum and just sort of copied it. Basically 5 gallon bucket, make sure you get a lid that fits tight. HomeDepot sell those orange buckets and lids pretty cheap. Then drill a ton of holes in it. Wrap the outside in a couple flexible furnace filters. I like the carbon impregnated pet ones. Zip tie the filters around the outside.

On the inside is a 4" PVC pipe. Drill a ton of holes in it as well. wrap in some sort of mesh/screen/filter material. Drill a hole in the lid of the bucket and make sure the PVC pipe can fit through it. Do make sure you dont drill any holes in the pipe above where it sticks through the lid. Caulk around the pipe so the connection is tight. Fill the area between the pipe and the bucket will carbon pellets. Use reducers or adapters as needed and connect the flexible duct from your exhaust fan to the bucket. Voila!

Not a cheap option. Usually around $200 for everything. However, very effective and long lasting. Plus refills are just the pellets.
