Mephisto Genetics 4 Assed Monkey + Alien vs Triangle + BTS (New Grower)

Thanks and welcome @OBSF + @EelGrows ! Can't wait to a bountiful grape soda harvest! Glad to hear you're well stocked with a smalller tent !

Alright folks, things have picked up a bit around here. We have 4 Assed Monkey [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] and Alien vs Triangle at Day 22 - August 19th, 2019 They have begun their flower.

I have some questions for help from fellow growers! The plants seem very healthy but not 100% perfect. PLEASE reply I am so grateful for your help:

  1. 4AM has some dark almost bluish tinting to her leaves (see below). I should have taken a better picture but her leaves are dark green with some lighter streaks in the middle...seems happy otherwise.
  2. AvT has some yellow tips to her newer leaves, is it because of FF happy frog being hot soil for her?
  3. Lower/youngest leaves on the plants are a bit lighter green, verging on yellow and wilting a bit. Normal?
  4. Based on this information, should I feed any nutes to either plant (have not given any so far)?
  5. Should I top AvT?
  • Watered all plants thoroughly today, last watering was Aug 15th.
  • Temp 71F, Humidity 51%

Some stretch on 4AM. She's still bendy and flexible. Her leaves are dark with lighter streaks in the middle as I mentioned. She's giving me a vibe that she's deeply rooted...

...And since she's looking to be taller than the rest, began LST on her, look at the coloration on leaves and tell me what you think:

She has those yellow tips I mentioned. I assume because of soil being hot for her. Looks great otherwise. Should I top her? If so, when?

We're on early days for Bluetoof Special Pheno and 4AM2

Thanks in advance for answering my questions in your replies below to help with the grow!!!

Hey man was trying to see the discolouration on the leaves but it's hard to in the grow light. Mind taking a pic with flash or something so we can see the true colours? I'll take a look at it tomorrow if you do and get back to you if I have a hunch. Looking good otherwise!

Thank you for taking a look I’ll send you a pic in this thread here tomorrow. Also if you don’t mind weighing in on my other questions- should I top AVT and if so when? And should I feed any nutrients yet?

@EelGrows here is that pic of 4AM slightly dark but you can see how the leaves are dark with lighter coloration. Also some yellow tips on youngest bottom leaves. Any cause for concern?

Hey, musta missed the AvT question. But looking at it now, i wouldn't top it. For 22 days old she is on the smaller side, and i would only top autos that are growing at an awesome pace. Im just starting my second indoor grow now(autos), but this summer i experimented with topping autos in small pots(1l and 3l airpots). Of the 4 plants, the 3 that were growing at an extreme pace didn't bat an eye after topping. One which was only half a node behind, got stunted.

Also i wouldnt feed any nutes yet, seeing as you have signs of slight nute burn. Maybe in about a weeks time start off with 1/4 strength feeds if the nute burn doesn't got worse.

@Soulflower sorry had to go back through the post for the 4AM. She looks ok. Maybe the soil was a bit hot for her too, but i think you need to supplement with a tiny bit of calmag since you're using distilled water(no micronutrients). But be careful since calmag also contains N, and her leaves are already a dark green which is a sign for me that she has more than enough N.

Thank you for your input that’s helpful! I will do a tiny dose of calmag on the next watering because the one I have is 4-0-0 and definitely don’t want to overload with N. Should I do maybe 1ml of calmag / gallon of water or even less?

I get ya. My calmag is 8-0-0 so i have to deal with the same problem sometimes lol. My dose for my calmag is 0.15ml/l at 1/3 strength(max i ever do). Will have to see how i do during the next indoor run. If i gey any problems. One thing im for sure doing different is im skipping veg nutes comoletely this time, and will wait for plants to tell me what they need. Ill maybe do a preemptive calmag dose right at the start of floweeing and see how it goes.

Looking through your thread and looking good. I agree that you could use some Cal-Mag throughout your grow. There are several good Cal-Mag supplements with little to no Nitrogen. With your leaves so deep green, I might think about getting a small botttle of supplement without it.

Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. I would hate to try to correct an issue with cal mag and then cause an N toxicity so I will go ahead and follow your advice to get a calmag without N in it (let me know if you have a brand in mind). Should I start supplementing calmag across all the plants or just 4AM?
