Mephisto Genetics 3BOG 5gal DWC vs 4gal AutoPot. Round 1.... Fight!

My tips are always a little burnt when I run nutes regardless of medium. That's how I know I'm getting everything I can without over doing it. My thinking anyways.

She's beautiful man I can't wait to see this play out. :d5:
Thanks, I agree...slight tip burn is my ideal too. But the old hydro grower in me always makes sure things don't progress. Looking at my pic, I am going to move that DWC plant backs little bit. The light is almost maxed out on height and I dont like my lights too close. That plant is getting such minimal lighting for it's size.

That's crazy. I find so awesomely ironic that you're like barely trying and this thing is a beautiful MONSTER!
No mobo it's the lights. They are so good you don't even have to use them and plants triple in size. I bet you they are out performing as they are scared. Lol

And the air lol. The max O2 tech is just showing again what maximum air can do. That is the main reason this plant is huge I promise. If you were to reduce that airflow it would not have gotten that big. That's why she is much bigger than the coco girl who is under an autocob as well, air to the roots folks it's the key! The lighting is perfect for the plant to be able to use those big ole roots. The fact that it is growing that big under the autocob is just cray cray, I love it. I am stoked to see this girl finish up for sure!

@BigSm0 i KNOW I can pull 10 zips off any mephisto gear there is lol. Can I get a free light lol. I kid I kid.

Great job @slowandeasy you are really highlighting two aspects of growing that are working beyond expectations. Max O2 and Autocobs for the win!

I just hooked up a 10 gallon gas tank to my echo leaf blower. This bitch is ready to burst lol. @derek420colorado no man I'm no good with the dwc. One plant in a room of 20 and I realized hydro was a lot more work than soil. I'll get a few zips but she isn't winning any beauty contests.

@slowandeasy wtf are you doing to this plant man. That's gonna win the best autocob grown plant of the year. You are using cobs I hope
That's exactly why @slowandeasy started this grow is because he had that myth I his head to. That DWC is mucccch more work. With the advancement in nutes and lots of air it literally takes no more effort than soil. I think S&E will attest that it is not nearly as hard as it use to be and all told it's not much harder than the coco or soil. I could be wrong though lol and for the increase in size you get from the DWC gals to me is worth the extra increase in workload. But as s&e and I discussed, growing these monster plants doesn't fut everyone's growing situation.

You're right I think it depends on your situation. I was preparing nutes for 20+ plants and had to make a separate batch for my one hydro girl. I also didn't have a clue what I was doing so things took extra. Yield is definitely better with dwc, labor is probably less but I feel soil is much more forgiving. I'd love to see a side by side with coco and blumats vs dwc.

I've done both. Autopots and Blumats are both gravity fed systems. One is top fed and one is bottom. Yields are similar, Blumats are a little more work. You will develop root mounds above ground with Blumats require minor adjustments. Both better than handwatering.

3 days later...had to turn phone sideways to get her all in the pic.

Just added my daily water. DWC was lower than normal, I may start feeding 2x per day soon. Coco girl is also drying out faster, but to be expected for both, they are Bulking up. Will add a pic or two in a couple days.
