Indoor 2nd Thoughts; Round 2 With THINK DIFFERENT

Wzup, folks?! Not an official update, just a couple of concerns. First off, I can't smell her. She's 50 something good days old, and I have to stick my nose all up in her to catch a whiff of her. I don't like that. By this time, I should be getting blasted in the face when I open my cab, but no. I get nada. I'm also concerned about her slow growth. At first, I wasn't letting this get to me, but now... it's becoming harder to ignore. What gives? She came up in an environment with less heat and humidity issues than my first plant, no pH issues or deficiency issues like my first plant had, and a better feed schedule than the first plant had. Also, she has better light placement than my first plant, yet she is growing much slower, and has much less of a smell than my first plant. Any ideas as to why? Not panicking, just want to know if and where I went wrong, so if mistakes were made, I can learn from them and avoid them during my next grow. I gotta get my shit right, yo! I got a BAM SLAM to win!

Hey man i grew two TDs lately and i have to say dont worry dude. I had the exact same problem with one of my TDs while one smelt great and ponged out the whole house the other had next to no smell just like you said i had to get right in there and i still couldnt really smell anything. In the end the plant that had no smell ended up with 9oz dry while the one that smelt great only gave 3 oz along with mistake and errors through the entire grow.
Its down to genetics man unfortunately not every seed will be the exact same , this is why people take cuttings from mother plants as they are guaranteed the exact same plant.
Put it like this with seeds its just different as each seed has its own personalty if you like. They are almost identical but vary slightly. Thats why we have phenotypes and thats what these variations are called when this happens. So dont worry man its nothing you did wrong its just nature doing its thing. Hope i helped put your mind to rest man as i know what its like i always thought i was doing something wrong but with some questions asked and research done i found it wasnt me but genetics.

The non smell had me worrying that I wasn't doing my job in raising my girl right! Did your plant ever develope any smell, or no? It was silly of me to think this plant was going to be exactly like the last one, because, like you said, it's all about the genetics. Hell, even twins can be completely different, so expecting 2 different plants, of the same strain, coming from 2 different seeds, to look alike and smell alike, is expecting a lot.

My brother from another mother!! Sounds like you got the spicy "pheno". I wouldnt call it a pheno exactly, like you have the fast finisher and you have the late finisher and then you have a thousand other possibilities that are somewhere in the middle lol and share characteristics from the parents, grandparents, etc.

First one I grew was spicy like that, good smoke though the high is there, the taste is good, just the smell is herbal (which aint a bad thing because the smoke is still tasty). If you want to increase the trike and terpene production tho try out this stuff called Bud Factor X, never used it but Tang swears by the stuff so im gonna try it this time. It optimizes aroma and taste and essential oils and all that good stuff bumping up the overall quality.

Trap i like the analogy, thats one of my problems. I set guidelines and try to stick to them too closely.. which is why i screwed up my diesel grow. We really have to take it one day at a time and play the ball where it lies. Thanks for the reminder brother!!

Naw man nothing is going on at the moment my fucking seeds got confiscated >:[ it arrived to my town and even went out to delivery, now the update reads "tendered to military agent"!! WTF is that bullshit about what the fuck!!!! So i freaked out, tore down the grow room (i wasnt growing anything anyways) but just to be safe im playing it cool for now. Fuuuuuck this is bullshit.

+1 on the Bud Factor X, Bandit When I was doing hydro (ebb and flow), I used it on a 2nd purple kush run, and got 20% more dry yield.. It does "something".... Pricey little bottle though, if I remember correctly. I'd vote (heh heh) that it was worth it, though.

Whaaaat??!! Damn, dog, I hope shit stays cool on your end. Why they gotta act like bitches?? 3 states are voting on legalization today, recreational use is legal in a few states, medicinal use is legal in several states, etc..., and they still wanna confiscate a few seeds?! Pathetic.

My advice ....

Treat it like golf and play her as she lies.

By that I mean, don't expect scenarios, realities and timing to replicate the previous grow
simply because the genetics are "the same"...just complete the task in front of you.

The biggest mistake you can make is feeling like you know what to expect.

Just put the first TD grow out of your mind and react to what presents itself.
Ultimately all you can do is keep it healthy while it goes through it's progression.

A: 50/50...it's always 50/50. What comes before or after a unique event
has no bearing on that event. Each grow is a unique event.

Im good man and you? No i had no smell at all from my bigger pheno, didnt even smell like weed.

I'm good, thanks. Man, the fact that this lil lady is growing slow as hell is bad enough, but no smell too??!! I loved the smell of my last plant, and was hoping this one would have the citrus like smell that the last one had. I'm about to finish up week 2 of flower, and start up with the Explode. Is it too late to order up some Bud Factor?
