Update. Will move the cheese and purple kush to 48 hours of darkness tomorrow before the chop. Gave the second top dress to the fugue state and strawberry nuggets. 3 tbsp gaia green 2-8-4, 1 tbsp 4-4-4, 1 tbsp sea kelp meal, 1 tbsp glacial rock dust, 1 tbsp bone meal, 1 tbsp insect frass, 1 tbsp bat guano, 2 tbsp grokashi. fugue state grew a foot this week and has amazing structure, gave it a bit of a lollipop, no training.View attachment 1294625
Strawberry nuggets so bushy, had to train each branch. View attachment 1294626
new recruits - orange diesel on the left, and GSC x Cherry Bomb on the right.View attachment 1294627

Looking forward to see if any seeds exist on the branches I pollenated. Any tips on finding out, or should I just poke around in the buds to see if anything falls out?

It's by far easier to wait until the bud is dry, but I usually just end up poking around a little before that. I think they may mature some during the drying phase too so keep that in mind. Look for some unusually large calyx's on the branches you pollinated. Give them a squeeze, if they are firm your in business ! Sometimes you can even see the seed has split the calyx open and you can see a little bit of it as well.

Fresh seeds never seem to germinate for me. I need to wait at least a week or 2 after harvesting. For the first week I keep them in a small container in the dark in a cool area of the house. I keep the lid cracked open that first week so they can dry out as well.

Ok. I cut the plants down tomorrow and start trimming. I will let you know what I find!

How long after pollination does it takes seeds to ripen? Mine is going on the third week an I can see some of the pods split open. The seeds look white.

Thanks for the info. I’ve resigned myself to this harvest being for seeds, not smoke. I’ll let it go until the end. A lot of the top leaves are already yellow so I hope the plant lives long enough to ripen the seeds.

For future seed runs I recommend just pollinating a single lower branch. If your doing it for yourself and a few friends that will be more seeds than you'll ever be able to grow. I pluck the male sacs just before they open on their own and pinch them over the bud I want pollinated. You can see the pollen drop from the sac if successful. I collect anymore that I want for storage and get rid of the rest of the male before it starts dumping pollen on it's own everywhere. I sometimes get the odd stray seed with this method but it's pretty minimal.
