New Grower First Grow - ILGM Blueberry - Indoor

I'm gonna call it for the Briscoe dry.

Technically, larf and other leaves are still fridge drying. I've been microwaving the larf to smoke as needed, and the leaves will eventually get ground up for shake joints. So, I'll just estimate their dry weight based on the air dry results. Final dry weight for the air dry sugar leaves was 33% of the initial weight weight, so I'll use that for the larf and other leaves.

The buds are in their final grove bags. Moisture / bag RH looks good enough and within range of what the bags can handle without needing burping. Total dry time was about 5 1/2 days at 70F / 55-60% RH, although I could maybe have bagged a bit sooner.

Overall, buds seem a bit light and airy compared to the commercial bud I'm used to - but it has been quite some time. Could also be partly due to me being a lazy trimmer and the fact that I'm used to less hairs remaining after commercial processing. But, it certainly does the job. Plus, I find myself licking my fingers after every time I handle a bud...

Final dry weights:

Buds - 95.75 g (dry)
Larf - 86.01 (wet) x (33%) = 28.3 g (dry)
Sugar Leaves & Other Trim = 12.42 (dry) + 12.56 (wet) x 33% = 16.5 g (dry)
Total = 140.6 g (dry)

Sadly, I am not able to add to the rep pile at the moment. It seems that the last rep I did was already in your direction. Next time then mate well done on the grow. I think you might be in line for the all time record for technical homework and analysis on a first grow. Congratulations on a great result, and thanks for teaching most of us a few things. :worship:

Chop #4 - Bubba - Day 88
11-21-21_Day 88_#4_Bubba_Side_Bud.jpg

- Decided to chop Bubba (#4). A bit more amber than Briscoe, but not by much. But, the medium-sized colas on the sides were completely falling over, so didn't look like they could go until next weekend.

- Overall, chop took a bit less time than Briscoe. Maybe I'm getting into a rhythm...or just taking less scissor hash breaks...

- Same as before - biggest colas will hang dry. Tops of other colas will bag dry. Sugar leaves will tray dry. Larf / other leaves will fridge dry.

- Will be interesting to see how final dry weights compare, since this was the plant I didn't train at all.

Still looks like a great harvest. Worst case scenario you'll have plenty of trim for bubblehash :woohoo1:

Chop #1 & #4 - Final Dry Weights
11-28-2021_Chop_#1_Ashley_Start.jpg

- I got lazy over the Thanksgiving break since #1 and #2 were the only plants left. I went a couple days of no feed / water-only for Ashley (#1), then a half-water day, then a no-water day. Needless to say, just about every fan leaf shriveled up and died off. Maybe that saved me some trim time?

That meant a bit less sugar leaves and other trim for Ashley, and it may mean the final dry bud weight is a bit higher than it should be - but, he was chock full of big buds anyways and managed to give me the King Cola of the grow:

Still need to chop and dry Sam this weekend, but here's how the final numbers are stacking up:

Day 111 - #2 Chop
12-14-21_Chop_#2_Start.jpg
12-14-21_Chop_#2_Final.jpg

- Finally chopped runty Sam (#2) on Day 114.

I had moved him from the tent to the closet, so I could move my next grow into the tent. As a result, I started ignoring him towards the end and he got a bit sad looking.

Since he was just all tiny buds, I treated it all as larf - just bagged it in the fridge and will probably just use for edibles. Got about 232 g wet, which should be ~60-75g dry.

Trich-wise, he had some amber, but not as much as I'd expect. Either due to his early-life stunting, late-life neglect, or just the strain - never really seemed to get past ~10-20% amber on any of these plants. But, in general, between "sugar vs. calyx", "top of cola vs. bottom of cola" and "top colas vs. bottom buds" - I find it difficult to get a decent measure across a plant (at least, to the level of precision/accuracy that I would prefer).
