Hi Pepe. In short, yes it is better. Although if you have a tight budget, and say your choices where 2 ebay models, or 1 reflector model, I would recommend the ebay models.

The 2 different series are ruining different diodes I believe, and the ebay model is the old version. Still a good grow light, but not as effective as the newer models.

I'd assume they are better, you usually pay for what you get, I'll upgrade some day I'm sure. If nothing else they are at least great starter lights. Hi again Pepe. That's a nice lamp there, but it's pretty expensive. For free it's great! However at almost $2 per watt it is over priced. Just my opinion. I sure as hell wouldn't kick it out of bed.

LOL hell no! It is a bit expensive that's for sure, we'll find out if its worth it soon enough I guess.

Nah, I'd say $750 on LED, and $150 on seeds. Gotta feed that addiction, lol.

That's exactly what I did. I have 3k in advertised watts. 3 600's and 4 300's. $630 I'll eventually trade them out for better quality lights, I'm completely happy with the ebay models. For now...

@iampepe it looks like the lights you have now are doing you good! I have to say these MH LED 5w chip reflectors are really showing my plants some love and vice versa. I am only seeing density and frostiness on my autos because they did all of their veg growth under cfl/hps, but my photos are loving these reflectors from seedling! Go check out my photo grow in my sig! First time at it, but I am really loving it. I think I'm going to have to build a separate auto box and use my closet for photos, since I have so much vertical space. Anyway point being that my LEDs are 26-28" from my photos and they aren''t stretching one bit, excellent penetration, and my temps are 10 degrees lower than my cfl/hps combo. I really love these LEDs, I'd say worth the investment later on.

Felt like something was missing because I updated early and I said there would be day 49 updates. So in honor of the gals making it to week 7! I took my beautiful LSD Emily out to bask in the the sun for a bit. Here's a main cola shot...

Even though my harvest on 4 plants will probably be less than my harvest on three plants from my first grow, this one plant makes up for any shortage on yield. She is magnificent @FastBuds ! From her structure, to her color, to her smell! Absolutely divine! These LEDs are easily putting twice as many trichs on my girls than I had last time. They are so fucking frosty! Emily hasn't even hit the snow storm yet, she still has 3 weeks to go! At week 8 I will harvest my most mature rhino, Riley. I believe she will be ripe at this point and it will free up just enough space to recompose the grow so that I will be able to transplant my super cheese into her final home (7 gal smart pot). Then I will let my other two rhinos, Maya and Nina, go to week 9 (they'll be harvested at week 9 as they are about a week behind Riley). Once they are out I will transplant my newest LSD into her 3 gal smart pot and I will let Emily go for one more week (harvest at week 10). Everything should go pretty smoothly, I'm just hoping that baby LSD isn't a dud!
