I agree. Get something like a pocket scope from amazon. I think paid like $13, it's a cheap piece of plastic, but worth the money to see up close.

@Fuggzy @tripaholic88 I actually have a scope but I find it really hard to use when the bud is on the plant. Maybe I just need more practice. I will go inspect the trichs on the piece I cut the other day and see what she's looking like. Also @tripaholic88 I need some of those LED glasses! They aren't easy on the eyes haha.

Also noteworthy, my new LSD has three cotyledons. I have read many different opinions on this. I have read it's weak genetic, could turn to a hermie, could grow extremely slow...as well as it could produce more herb than normal, and it is just an anomaly and will grow similar to a "normal" plant. I know that my rhino mutant ended up being my best gal, but it was a different type of mutation. Either way, let's see what happens!

That was a nice looking bud you clipped off to sample man! I'm sure it'll be some good smoke. Also, interesting about the three cotyledons. I wonder what will happen to her? And as far as determining ripeness, checking the trichs may not always work; for instance, some of the trichs on my fastberry are kinda purplish too... they won't tell me much ya know. Keep up all the good work man your girls all look lovely!

i was told to clip a little piece of sugar leaf off the bud and check that for trichs.... and man for $22 you and your eyes will be thaking me my friend... my right eye after having that side toward then ten and the zipper open while i LST'd for a while started gunking up almost like pink eye so that night i order the glasses and havent had a problem since.... im sure these led's are worse for your eyes than HPS/MH.. and i wouldnt worry about the LSD.. as im sure you know plants can pick up on stress! either chop her or give her a little pat on the back and tell her shes beautiful!:smoking:

@Colonel thanks for the kind words! it's really funny how my mind plays gems with me. So I saw Riley eating herself and thought I should clip a sample to test what the high is like. In my head I thought she was in the home stretch. not much growing to do. Now she's getting chunky as hell and even frostier if you can believe it! I will say that my rhinos are a lot frostier than my final product LSD from last grow. Might be the LEDs making these girls produce more trichs. My LSD this round is astonishing, she really is swelling up nicely. I am so happy to see that after the nitrogen toxicity I thought I had really fucked shit up.

I'd say I could cut Riley down on day 49 and be more than pleased but I will push her to 8 weeks if I can. My other rhinos maya and nina will probably go to week 9 and my LSD is going to week 9 or 10 for sure. The LSD despite being over twice as big as everyone else, still has a lot of growing to do.

@Colonel you must be close to harvest time, eh? I love the look of that fastberry, so glad I have a 3 pack patiently waiting.

Yeah man from what I've seen these fast buds strains get phat.... yes with a ph lol. I think you'd be surprised at how long you could let them go. I've read a lot of places that when you think it's ready to harvest, set the harvest date about a week from then. I don't really have enough experience to say how true that is but they'll swell as long as you leave them to grow.

I'm going to try to push both of my plants to at least 9 weeks hopefully 10, I don't think that'll be a problem for my OG but the Fastberry might not make it that long. I was thinking the Fastberry would be done soon, the pistils were dying back and all, then she started throwing out new pistils! So I'm just gonna let her grow, she'll tell me when she's ready haha. But yeah you should grow out those fastberry seeds as soon as you can! You definitely won't be disappointed! And I also recommend the OG, it went from no frost to a lot of frost in like 4 days, and she still has a lot of growing to do... I know that's going to be some potent stuff.

yea guys ive seen/heard around day 40ish-50some theres not much new growth then she will swell again for the final time @Colonel @Herbisaur ... im very excited for you guys as you near the finish line on your girls! im not far behind!

man i dont know why i didnt order them sooner... probably cuz i the cheapest pair i seen ppl talking about was like $80+ and the old lady would rather me go blind than spend $80 on grow glasses
yessir... supposedly SOMETIMES the trichs on the sugar leaves maynot amber up then you would have to check out a bud... but the sugar leaf should be fine bud! and i try to pass on any good info i can to make this community a better place with better growers!
