New Grower 2nd grow. Mephisto & RocBud in BuildASoil

OK. Time to kick off my 2nd grow journal. I am changing up a couple things from my first grow. Namely, upsizing to 3 gallon from 1.5 gallon and starting a weekly top dress/tea feeding schedule. Last time I tried water-only in Kind Soil and ran into deficiency issues around week 7 in 3/4 of my plants.

They are now in BuildASoil OLY 3.0 and will be following a simplified version of their schedule using their craft blend dry amendments, build-a-flower top dress with supplementation of microbes, amino acids and micronutrients. I also have their build-a-bloom for flower. (Side note: I feel like BuildASoil could really benefit from reorganizing their products and schedule. It’s very unwieldy and so many products have similar names and not everything has sufficient explanations or contradictory information on how and when to use).

They are in a 2x2x4.5’ tent under an HLG 65 4000k. That will be swapped out for an HLG 100 3000k when they show sex. Exhaust is AC Infinity T4 which is really great and really quiet.

I germinated these seeds about a week and a half ago they all came up the same day.
Today is day 11 from sprout and today I transplanted seedlings into their final pots.

I hope I didn’t stunt too bad as I should have transplanted a few days ago. Roots were circling on all of them and my transplant process wasn’t as gentle as I had hoped. The only reason I didn’t go straight into final pot was I didn’t have space in the tent as it was being used to dry my last harvest so I started in solo cups in my mini 1.5x1.5 tent so I could get a couple week head start. Here’s hoping to minimal stunting!

Day 12. Looking happier today post-transplant and I’ve had a bit of new growth.

4-assed monkey has the nicest growth so far, but Frosted Cookies is looking great, too. 3BOG has been a bit lanky and droopy since it sprouted.

Day 17. First sign of pistils on all 3 in the big pots.

LST today. Trying out garden stakes rather than plant ties. Only negative so far was they had a ton of machining oil on them I had to wipe off before use.

Day 19. More LST. I am also adding a RocBud Passion Punch (strawberry kush x purple rocberry) to the mix that should hopefully sprout in a day two. One of these will end up in the mini tent with the HLG 65 when I swap out to the HLG 100 in the main tent in a week or so.

Day 23 for the 3 big plants. Day 3 for the Passion Punch sprouts.

The BuildASoil dude recommended small, frequent waterings to keep the soil biology alive and active. That has taken some getting used to. No issues so far but If I have trouble dialing in the watering I will probably look at autopots or blumats for future grows.
