Dutch Passion 2 x Think Different, Plagron LM soil, airpots, 2 x GN006

Finally finished with 145 and 135g dry, quite expected. I hoped for more, to be honest.

I think I screwed with intentional use of slightly lower ph at 6,2 until day 40, when I saw something was not doing well. Besides, watering was more often and with less or no outrun.

All that together made soil too acidic in some weeks and that could be seen on plants after day 40 and measured as well. But you come too late with your tool, baby.

I have learned some more things about maintaining ph in soil, at least I hope so.

It is not bad, I agree, but I had never had plants with so many branches, bud sites and extremely thick stems before. So everything looked very, very good bud did not finish that way. It is very good instead of very, very good.

heck, thats a great result considering your concerns about pH earlier in the grow. Well done

What did you lear about maintaining pH in soil there Gonzo? I'd be interested to know your conclusions.

Thank you, Tony, I had never grown so well built plants, main stem was literally like I would grow a tree. Seems that they like slightly acidic frequent watering without outrun, well, after time soil gets contaminated, acidic and they do not like it any more. I did not react on time.

H.H., since I use Hesi acids to correct ph and I had used a little bit more of them as usual, I had learned that they build up with time, so correcting ph does not only mean one time event. What you put in water have consequences on your soil in next weeks. When I was looking around for some usefull guidelines, I watched founder of Hesi explaining why they ph buffer their bloom ferts. He says, this way they help growers to use less acids, which make soil acidic in two or three weeks, because they go nowhere, they stay in soil.

I had also learned that I had been underestimating the importance of washing soil at least once with plain water, especially when watering without much outrun. Last time I washed them with 30-40 liters of tap water with high ph and measuring outrun all the time. First 20 l do not even touch low ph, so the quantity of water used must be really big, at least 30-40l if not more. Seems that there is really a lot of stuff to dissolve and run out.

I am guessing about using more dolomite lime, but later on, not from the beginning. I am afraid it would make soil too alkaline in first three weeks.

WHAT lol thats friggen massive so early, IDK why my TDs are so dense :-(

Growing in coco is not the right decison for startups, I am afraid. I have checked your grow, do you take care of ph at all?
