New Grower 1st time grower needs help

Don't feel bad, we've all been there. It's not like you can go ask the local agriculture agent for advice. We've all made our share of rookie mistakes.

Those slow release nutes are gonna muck things up a bit. You'll have to easy on the other nutrients and keep an eye on them.

Halogen lights are not really that useful as grow lights. They run very hot and their color temperature is more red. Red is good for flowering but you need blue for good vegetative growth. If you are using them in a small space you might find it hard to keep the temperature down. About 79 is where you want to be. Most growers are using either T5 flourescent, compact flourescent (CFL), high intensity discharge (HID) or LEDs. Each has it's pros and cons but all are designed for growing weed.

i feel stupid now..lol..but yes its a slow release soil..i just flushed em out last nite so i can switch the nutes...the halogen light set up is 2(500) watt lights(i only use one) with 3-4inch tube shaped bulbs in them with metal reflectors enclosed in a protective glass shield..these 2 lights rest on a tripod which can be raised up or dwn and he lights rotate up/dwn and left/right..thnx for lookin out.

About the only place that might carry it locally would be a hydroponics shop. I would expect to pay about $20 a bottle for a quart each of Grow Big and Tiger Bloom. You can find it cheaper on the internet, with shipping it works out about the same. There's an outside chance a nursery or good garden center might have it.

how much does fox farm cost? and where can i get it from.anywhere locally i hope? thnx for the tip

Actualy, I was watching Marijuana usa and the company wegrow that they did a segment on is realy cheap. I bought mine on amazon, but the wegrow place is cheaper, they also have 1.5 cubic ft of OF soil for under 20.00

Pro-Mix is easier to find than Fox Farm mixes (which I'm using because I have a lot of it). Muddy and Jackal both use it with a nute line that buffers pH. They could tell you a lot more about it. I have lot's and lot's of soil mix but if I ever exhaust it, that's the way I'm headed. Anyone would love to get the results these guys get.

A year or so back exhausted their original source of materials and has since been contracting their soil products out. The quality has been spotty, and generally seems to have gone down a bit. Shipping costs have gone up in the last year. Last time I looked it was more to ship a bag of OF than what the bag cost.
