New Grower 1st time grower needs help

hey this is a great site.. glad to be growin wit everybody..i have a question about my lowryder autos.. im growing 5 of them and i need sum help with the nutes..theyre 4 wks old now and ive been feeding them a blooming agent thats 15 30 15...is this ok? if not wat should i be usin?..please help...any advice is much appreciated?thnx alot

First off, welcome to AFN. No, those are the wrong nutrients to be using during vegetative growth. You want something higher in N, like a 10-5-5 or something similar. I would also look for something with a little more K for flowering, like a 5-10-10. Autos generally show sex at around 3 weeks, then continue with their vegetative growth phase for another 2-3 weeks. During that time they gain most of their vertical height. Once that vertical growth slows and stops, then it's time to switch from the veg nutes to the flowering ones.

What is your setup? Lights, type of soil, size of pots, etc.

thnx..the only other nutes i have is miracle grow thats 12 4 8m, is this ok to use or should i buy sumthin else..my light set up is 2 40watt grow lux flourescent tubes(both 8 ft.) and i have 2 500 watt halogen..somebody told me this was a gd set up..and im usin miracle grow soil...also i thought autos didnt have a vegetative phase due to the fact that it starts flowering from germination? thnx in advance..much appreciated

Well I use Fox Farms This is the feeding schedule, depending on the soil I use a 1/4 of what these say. I have a hot soil, fox farms OF and I was told they cant take that many nutes

FOX FARMS FEEDING SCHEDULES

Week1- pH water only
1.5 add in Big Bloom to the mix at 1/2 table spoon,
2- 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom,
2.5- 3/4 tsp of grow big,
3- 1tsp grow big and 1/2 Tiger bloom 1/2 table spoon Big Bloom,
3.5- 1/2 tsp Grow Big 1/2tsp Tiger bloom,
4- 1tsp Tiger bloom 1/2 tsp Grow Big,
4.5- Clean pH'ed water to clear out salt build up,
5- 2tsp tiger bloom 1/2 grow big, 5.5- 1 Tablespoon Grow Big,
6- Begin Flush for the final weeks.

MG products are not the best for growing weed. Which one of their soils are you using? Does it have slow release nutrients? You should be using the 12-4-8 for the first 5-6 weeks, 1/4 strength. Then switch to the bloom, starting at 1/4 strength and slowly working up to 1/2. Autos don't start flowering from germination. They will show sex at about 3 weeks as I previously explained. These are chemical nutes so be careful about feeding too much as they can cause problems if over fed. Also, you will need to only use plain water for the last two weeks of the grow to flush out the chemicals.

Tell me more about those halogen lights. Are they actual grow lights or some sort of industrial fixture?

Sound advice here... I'd say the MG range is pretty harmful especially to the consumer. I wouldn't put it on my plants if they paid me

i feel stupid now..lol..but yes its a slow release soil..i just flushed em out last nite so i can switch the nutes...the halogen light set up is 2(500) watt lights(i only use one) with 3-4inch tube shaped bulbs in them with metal reflectors enclosed in a protective glass shield..these 2 lights rest on a tripod which can be raised up or dwn and he lights rotate up/dwn and left/right..thnx for lookin out.
