Good read! I will continue with water the last 7-10 days. The first go round I just watered with slight runoff.

Friend told me the trichomes can turn quickly..they seem to be. I thing I got a better look today. What is the typical/optimal harvest window.. a week?

Things are looking a lot more cloudyish. Gonna guess 50-60% Cloudy, 35-45%Clear, 5% Amber. Pistils haven’t seemed to change much. Probably 50/50 orange and white.

Both of those pics show sugar leaves, you need to be looking at the calyxes. Regardless, those still look quite clear to me overall.

I can tell you in my experience, trichs maturing feels like it takes ages lol. Where you are right now, you could probably wait another week before you check them again. As you gain some more experience, you'll be able to get a general idea of where your trichs are just by looking closely at the plant.

Here's some trich shots from my most "sativa-y" highed plant right after I harvested. Would have taken her longer to finish bulking out but she got hit with spider mites late in the game and I panicked lol.

Gotcha. Done a little more reading and looking at pics. Yah, Think I have a ways to go. This is an indica dominant hybrid so I will wait until I see a lot more cloudy and a lot more amber. Maybe 50/50?

Being my first time around, Just a little worried I would let it go too long. I am at day 63 today, so technically have another week or so at least. Want to get optimal quality if possible. I’m a bit of a perfectionist.

I will keep checking every few days. But I can certainly be patient.

I think premature harvest is super typical for first grows, tbh. My first four I harvested sooner than I should have. I ended up barely checking trichs on the other 4 of my first go and just sort of waited until the plants took on an amber hue overall. Another trick is to take flash pics of the plants in the dark, when they start to look more dull vs sparkly you'll know that you're starting to amber out as the light reflects off the amber trichs differently than the clear.

Not the best picture, but you can see how the bottom left plant is the dullest as its probably around 15% amber currently

If you're looking for like a Sleepy Time indica smoke, I like to go to like 40ish% amber. As the trichs oxidize (which is what causes them to amber) the THC in the trichs starts converting the CBN, which is more sedative and will help you to sleep more than get you high. I take stimulants for my ADHD, so having a solid mix of THC (cloudys) and CBN (ambers) helps me unwind and slow down my brain enough to sleep.

Day 70- Not much has changed in the last week with #1 GSC. Trichs are mostly cloudy now, still a few clear, still a few am we, but not much that I can tell. Most of the leaves are dying and falling off at this point. I’ve just been going with pH adjusted water for the last week or so. I guess just let her keep going?
